Feel free to start a new one, Juni. It went wonky and was slowing down the Forum, so I had to delete it. Luckily, there were only a few posts on it.

I thought it got "banned"
I took out Salinger's The Catcher In The Rye from the library today. I find a section of the library "devoted" to books for "High School" students ( I am not one). This is where I find the book.

.....and I thought I lost it working on the computer

Salinger and Erskine Caldwell are both available in our libraries now. I have heard that Caldwell is still banned in the south.

Guys i wanted your valuable opinion on this one. The Catcher in the Rye. A day back i was searcing for some books for our Library (work place one) and saw this on internet. Can you all give your inputs in brief pl? If its not too much of a trouble. We are hoping to buy some good books. I have already taken Gooberz and Star Signs plus a couple of others suggested here.

I am only on chapter 12 of The Catcher In The Rye. I am enjoying it so far. It is written in first-person narration. It is a fictional story.

I first read Salinger at 13 yrs old and it went straight over my head. I simply wondered what all the fuss was about (besides a boy cussing). I later reread it in my twenties and had the aha moment. A timeless & good read!

I know lexx said she hopes when her books are published, they will be banned... but not til I read them!
