I once saw a sign that said "sin is death" but if "all deaths are suicide (linda goodman)" and suicide is sin, then shouldnt "death is sin" be more appropriate?

hhmm... i would assume that you could potentially find information thru vital stats using your father's info - again assuming that he was listed on the BC as the father... good luck

There's a few sites out on the net that try to reunite people, you could always try posting what little info you have...you could get lucky. Are there no other family members that have details?

I do understand, my mum had a daughter before me that got adopted and I've never met her, we've tried to find her but no luck as yet.

Niki... I found my dad, with only knowing his name...

I looked on the internet (this was 13 years ago, when the net wasnt as advanced as it is now)
I found him with a website similar to this.. Linked to the phone book
http://www.yellowpages.com/findaperson

I only entered in the name, and left the state blank.
Its a long search it started by alphabetical order by state.
For me the search started in Alabama and I found him in Texas...
I let my intuition guide me. I scrolled for hours name after name..
When I got to a name I called it and spoke to a woman, and IT was the correct number!!!
My first try.. Amazing huh? IT was meant to be..

Problem, this only works if she has a house phone in her name...
Also try FB and those people search..
You can get a list of people for very little money.. Like 10 dollars..

Good Luck!

Oh ps...
When I found him, I discovered I have 3 sisters.. I spoke with them, but I never met any of them..

thanks a lot lioness....i did try looking on FB, but the number of people named Carolin (or carolyn) is incredibly long, even if i added my last name (my dads last name) to it to try to "narrow" the search...and believe me, there are a lot of Carolin (and even Carolyn) Grants out there

I KNOW IT does take forever... I took me hours and hours.. All I had was the name.. The last name is so common its ridiculous.
I checked every state! Until I got to Texas..

Id stick with FB because at least there are pics... Sit down and focus on nothing but that.. No tv,phone etc... Have faith and listen to your gut...

Ohh and use the filters... lol

I only know of the uk ones but found this so far http://www.losttrekkers.com/type.asp?iType=200

there could be sites where you could leave your details too so that if she goes looking, you're easier to find.

I haven't read all the respones, but just wanted to say I have a long lost brother.

My Mom and I have been looking actively for about.. I guess over ten years now!
One thing the agency said was that females were more receptive to being 'found' than males.
If a good woman raised a male child, he will consider this his mother and be loyal to her, in alot of cases.
That's what we were told by A.L.M.A.

Good luck Nicki, I know that frustration of knowing there is someone else in the world who shares your genetics and you want so badly to see them.
