At the moment gloomier.
An old friend only age 55 is dying.:'(
We were uber close for some 19 years
until I divorced her brother.
She has avoided me ever since then.:'(
I tried many times to reconnect but was pretty much told where to "go".
Such a helpless hopeless feeling,
nothing I can do.
I never stopped loving her and treasuring what we once had.
Folks, don't hate,
someday it will be too late to make peace.

My son who rarely speaks to me;
{because I did not go to his wedding because I was gravely ill at the time.}
Has not said he loves me in over a decade.....:'(

Wrote and told me his aunt still loves me and before she went into the coma, a few days ago,
showed him pictures of when I was her matron of honour.
I am still crying something awful.
She had previously literally cut my face out of any picture, like on a family collage used at her parent's wedding anniversary party.
So to hear that my "face" was in an album she just began a few days ago,
touches my heart deeply with both joy and deep sorrow.
I told my son I wanted to tell him before its too late,
(so many mini-strokes, and a small heart attack, I just do not know when my number will be up)
I love you so very much and I am proud of you.
OK
crying too much here.......
Please folks
please
please
show the love, give the love,
before it is too late.
:'(

I see people speaking so bitterly of each other all the time in my life.

Hate is futile, it's surely better to live in amity.
I have people I should 'hate' for things they did to me, but I just try to let it go.

The truth of things is within ones own heart.

Keep your head held high, Lexx--you're amazing and have a lot to be proud of (like your insight and intelligence).

And thank you for giving us this reminder; it's something we all should remember.

It's obvious she still loves you very much.

She had been battling liver cancer for several months.
She was doing fine, winning, but then her lungs failed and she went into a coma the other day and never woke up.
I am so very sad but relieved she suffered no more and passed peacefully at midnight.
I am stunned though just stunned over it all.
I don't think it has completely sunk in yet that she is gone from this lifetime.
We had known each other since she 14 and me 15 years old.
She was my maid of honour when I married her brother, my ex#1.
And I was her Matron of honour at her wedding.
Even though we had a falling out when I divorced her brother,
there are almost two decades of lovely memories.

So true Lexx.
I have been thinking of death a lot recently.
I have never experienced the death of someone I love as an adult (only my great wee nana, when I was 6 and detached from the situation), and I have been dreading it.

My family have been blessed with pretty good health, I still have my grandparents and parents. Because of this I have been worrying that they will all start dying at the same time. Then I chide myself for being so selfish - if the thought of losing them is scary, how must it be for the person who is dying, you know.

Many people around me have been losing people, and the older I get tghe more I hear of death, and I know it is coming to my life soon.

If only the knowledge that it will happen whether you like it or not were enough to stop worrying and accept it ...

I'm so sorry for your approaching loss.
Regret is a heavy stone to carry, but we can't change the choices of others, only forgive them for how their choices affect us.
Perhaps all this is released in death, and one day we'll all be free of it.

Oh I'm sorry Lexx. I really should read entire threads before commenting.
I am glad she passed peacefully.
