I am just wondering what you do and what is the best way to celebrate it. There is no true China Town in this city but if I feel a bit better I would like to visit one of the Chinese restaurants downtown and see if they do anything special. What Chinese dishes would you suggest that are good for someone with a cold/flu?

Soup should be good since it's base is pure chicken stock.. especially Wonton soup. I was working at a Chinese restaurant when I was 13 and overheard a customer saying the soup made her feel better. ------------------ "The better you feel about yourself, the less you feel the need to show off." — Robert Hand "I am not absentminded. It falls on the 23rd this year. I will be celebrating silently with a nod of anticipatory approval.------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." From what I hear most cities hold the celebrations tomorrow Sunday. I will celebrate by eating Wonton soup per Alma Sun's suggestion. IP: Logged |

Furniture re-arrangement? Or will you bring in plants, crystals, etc.?

No, not doing anything. But I know I'll be receiving red envelopes! YAY lol. ♥ ♥ ------------------ "The better you feel about yourself, the less you feel the need to show off." — Robert Hand "I am not absentminded. I was looking online for feng shui advice for my Chinese sign. I'm a horse, and the site I looked at said having a black victory horse in S. part of home will bring ultimate sucsess. Also I guess in Chinese astrology there are these 3 killing stars(I'll be sure to find the link to post to make sure I'm wording this right) And to protect myself against robbery, mishaps, and financial loss. To also have 3 divine guardians in the S. of house. I'm not sure if I will be able to find those. But there is a store near by that sells a lot of Buddha figures ninja swords and stuff maybe I'd have some luck there. I try to find whatever I can that is close enough to it before I go out and buy it. I'm gonna look around this dump and see if I have anything black horsey around here. Years ago I've used my old beanie babies When it says to use certain animals. haha I'm no feng shui wizzard, but I dabble with it a little...when I have lots of time on my hands. ta da! http://www.fengshuimall.com/feng-shui-forecast-2012 this is the only site I can find on the matter. (maybe I should use bing lol) IP: Logged |

Thanks for the link!! I used to be into feng sui and stuff but mainly I would focus on decoration. I do remember standing in the middle of the house with a compass trying to figure where to put furniture etc. It's fun -as you say- if you have time to kill.

Fruit that eats like meat?! Please do investigate and come back with the findings! This is fascinating for a Saggie! And funny about the haircut. I was thinking it's about time! IP: Logged |

The photos of the food are fantastic but man the fruit/meat dish looks awful to me. I wouldn't touch it if you paid me! The links/references thing is not a pet peeve. It's the proper way to quote somebody else's writings, as I explained. There are copyright and intellectual property issues all over the web. I didn't invent them!

And to answer your last one (I had read it but no time to respond until now sorry): yeah, Saggies will try anything once. That is, unless it looks like crap. Please bring back the photos! I hope I didn't offend you or anything? IP: Logged |

Update: Didn't go anywhere yesterday (Sunday) because my cold/flu is still messing up with me. I can't go anywhere without a box of tissues and to top it off my eyes looked like a vampire yesterday!!! So I had to stay put. Practically today is the big day but again have to take it easy as the cough persists and so is everything else. Siiiiigh..... This month feels like it's been a wash. I hate to be sick.
