Narrow them back down. Seriously, narrow them friggin down.I'd not pay so much attention to the numerology of the number of forums and instead how the entire place is surviving as a whole (and yes, before you say it, i know, it's the top 500 or whatever.....but really that does not mean much......most of the gems are gone now...... Hmm Have to think about it, as there are so many interesting possibilities. How about Human development--like our growing experiences that we could share with each other.------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

We have way more gems here now than ever before. LL used to be a very small, albeit close-knit, community, but it was quite cliqueish. That was a turn-off to Newflakes. When one got mad, they all got mad. That gang-up mentality was not conducive to growth. The quality and expertise of Astrologers here now is unsurpassed from any time in our history. People should stop living in the LL past. Onward and upward! IP: Logged |

It's only a matter of time until it happens again - it happens every year or two on another astrology forum that is more heavily moderated. One of those times when FB has been good - I became friends with one of them, and stumbled into a group of people who remembered me. I don't know many people here now, but I haven't spent as much time here as I used to. IP: Logged |

Human Beings, by nature, are social critters. They have a need to bond, be heard and share. A larger format cuts into that need and it loses the intimate or close nature of interacting . It all becomes to spread out and that bond that holds a group close is missing. I think that is what`s being said here. The question is then, how to use all the forums and be able to get to know the posters while interacting. The forum discriptions are too close in definition to one another and people get confused. By narrowing the forums and giving a wider berth in subject, we would have more posters, a closer community and a smoother labor of love in modding. Just my onion edited to add. I understand Randall. That was an issue but we do need to feel a sense of belonging and community by more interacting . So, how to achieve that? ------------------ We need to listen to our own song, and share it with others, but not force it on them. Our songs are different. They should be in harmony with each other. ~ Mattie Stepanek IP: Logged |

Exactly. I know that I've changed, though - I feel so different, at least in some respects. IP: Logged |

I'm not living in the past. Stop trying to make my posts into something they are not. We can agree to disagree. And each have our own views and memories. IP: Logged |

I'm also in favor of consolidating forums. Instead of Global Unity AND Global Unity 2.0...how about just one political forum?Ditto for Astrology, Astrology 2.0? I could get into a visual arts forum. And if Sweet Peas closes, a forum for serious topics like death, depression, suffering...might serve our community well. IP: Logged |

I don't know if it serves your interests because you already have a career forum. I'm suggesting a money, real estate and investments forum. Or a college and education forum. I would be able to play a greater role in this forum. Perhaps it's too specialized?IP: Logged |

How about creating an archives forum. That way all of the threads/fourms that were effected before the crash have a proper place (the orginal Astrology fourm, the orginal Lindaland Central forum, etc) and at the same time keep the pages searchable. I still read and reference old astrology threads from years back. Plus as a bonus that should free up 3 more forums and the best three forum ideas can be chosen rather than having everyone decide on one forum idea. quote: Originally posted by YoursTrulyAlways: I don't know if it serves your interests because you already have a career forum. I think thats to grim of a forum. North America and Europe will never achieve the same growth levels being experienced in Asia and South America. The current GDP growth and the expected GDP growth says it all. --------------------------------------- Capircorn Rising Gemini Sun, 5th House Aries Moon Mercury in Gemini Venus In Taurus
