I was thinking about myself and everything that I am. (Also I caught that song reference! But never brought it up.)

I only called myself this after the site crashed, it's what everyone called me for short, as a nickname anyway. So I thought I'd make it easy and stick with it.

...sorry, but I'm dying to know that the heck "jellyfishtry" means?

what is the "try" part for?

Can tell I don't check in often enough because there seems to be a few "hannas"

hannarama
hannabanannie

and another one, I think.

Can't keep anyone straight anymore. Certain posters have a similar energy and they end up blending together and I forget their names.

I know mirage is the ones that always posts at least a few songs in each and every post. For awhile I was getting her mixed up with "misserie" (sp?)

Luckily I don't pop in here much.

jellyfishtry, i'd love to hear more about your name...how you came up with it...

IDK... I didn't really think about it or try to get creative with it.I think I originally tried Aquaman but it wasn't available. So I settled with aquaguy91.. I usually put 91 in all my screen names , I guess I'm a creature of habit.

It's a dedication to my since long passed Japanese Fighting Fish I had for years. One day he decided to die and I put him in the sink-a-rator or whatever they are called. His remains was thus spread with the masses of water. RIP Charlie!

Not to mention there's an aquagirl92 as well. Aquarius people aren't as original as they're made out to be.

Charlie,

That's so sweet of you.

.

Hm, well mine means "sweet dream" in French.
I like the way it sounds and I love having sweet dreams, so.. haha.
It's pronounced "dooh rev" by the way, no "x" sound.

I thought it meant you were born in 1991 (that's how it usually goes when it comes to numbers in a screen name, and it would make sense given you're in your early 20s).

As for me I'd just gotten back from visiting my granny in Texas, and she'd called me "pix" again, which was short for "pixie jane." My actual name is "Becky Jane" but she said when I was little (as in before 5) I was so wild, mischievous in a good nature way, got along with animals, would just dive into hay and giggle furiously, always flitting & dancing about, creating mischief (like when I grabbed a screwdriver and tried to take her TV apart) that she took to calling me "Pixie Jane" instead of "Becky Jane" and later "Pix."

Getting back onto LL after having been off for a few years (and unable to access my old account) I needed a name, and that just came right up.

Not crazy about my current user name;
"Lexxigramer".
Changed it because Randall and a few others said LEXX was not a good name according to numerology.
So Lexxigramer has a better vibration than LEXX, but I do not like the newer name.

So on that note here is why I chose
"LEXX".

LEXX.....

I study ancient writings...so
LXX=

quote:
The Septuagint (IPA: /ˈsɛptuədʒɪnt/), or simply "LXX", is the Koine Greek version of the Hebrew Bible, translated in stages between the 3rd and 1st centuries BC in Alexandria.[1]

It is the oldest of several ancient translations of the Hebrew Bible into the Greek language, the lingua franca of the eastern Mediterranean from the time of Alexander the Great (356-323 BC). The word septuaginta[2] means "seventy" in Latin and derives from a tradition that seventy (or seventy-two) Jewish scholars translated the Pentateuch (Torah) from Hebrew into Greek for Ptolemy II Philadelphus, 285–246 BC.[3][4] ]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Septuagint

I also am a word fiend and Lexigrammer so I added "E" to LXX.
I also like the number "5" and "E" is the fifth letter of the alphabet.
And there you have it...
"LEXX":

quote:
E is the fifth letter in the Latin alphabet. Its name in English is spelled e (pronounced /iː/), plural ees (rare).[1] The letter E is the most commonly used letter in the Czech,[2] Danish,[2] Dutch,[2] English,[3] French,[4] German,[5] Hungarian,[2] Latin,[2] Norwegian,[2] Spanish,[6] and Swedish languages.[2]
E is derived from the Greek letter epsilon which is much the same in appearance (Ε, ε and function. In etymology, the Semitic hê probably first represented a praying or calling human figure (hillul jubilation), and was probably based on a similar Egyptian hieroglyph that was pronounced and used quite differently. In Semitic, the letter represented /h/ (and /e/ in foreign words), in Greek hê became Εψιλον (Epsilon) with the value /e/. Etruscans and Romans followed this usage. Arising from the Great Vowel Shift, English usage is rather different, namely /iː/ (derived from /eː/ in "me" or "bee") whereas other words like "bed" are closer to Latin and other languages in usage.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E

Thought of this name while on another site, back in July 2007. Wherever I've been on the internet, I've used this particular name.

At the time I created this username, I was haunted by a scene from a Bugs Bunny Cartoon where he was exclaiming something like 'It's just a mirage-y!' (He was in the desert, pun he made was like Arabian nights, like a 'mirage-ji'... Many adult level puns were tucked into the speeches of characters in mid-1950s children's cartoons! )

What I liked was that even though 'it was only a mirage', Bugs Bunny was still able to use this 'oasis in the desert' for real... as ideal resting spot for himself!

I added the 29 for the day of my birthday. I kept bumping into people who had been born on the 29th of their birth month! We had an unofficial 29-club! Thought that his number could also help distinguish me from others who would chance on using the mirage name on another posting site somewhere...

-----
A few months after using my name 'mirage29' I found an association with the French airplane Mirage2000. How cool! I liked the thought of being a helper-scout type plane. Independent, yet part of a team! yay!

When I started posting here at LL, I found a song that "fit" how I felt about parts of my life...
