It said it had a virus.

FB will not let me log on until I download their virus protection

I tried my own first but that did not work.

The thing is that their scan has already been on for 3 hours and is still scanning.

I tried last night but it was taking so long that I had to go to bed lol

Anyone have this and what happened?

Kaspersky Malware Scanner is now checking your computer and trying to remove any malware that's found.
You can log into Facebook and the scan will continue working. We'll send you a Facebook notification when the scan is finished

Does FB have it`s own virus protection or is that the actual virus instead asking to be activated by downloading it?

Trend Micro Housecall is an online virus scanner that is really good and zaps most virus`s. I have had to use it when the virus blocked me from using my own protection scanner.

I got on through internet explorer but for everyone else, don't use the "virus protector" Fb says to use

Secondly, a full scan started at 5am. It's now 12pm and it's only 56% done with a finish time of 5.30pm today. That's over 12 hours to scan my pc which consists of 2 hardrives, 115GB and 31GB. Isn't 12 hours somewhat excessive? PC Cillin used to scan in much less time. I mean, it's good it's being thorough but I would have hoped it might have been done so I can use the computer.

Some people say this scan takes 26 hours

My computer store is working on this

It was FB and not a lack in my computer, although they said my Flash was not up to date, which could have prevented it

They are trying to call FB about it.

Still may not be resolved until tomorrow, hopefully, then, even

I did not update the flash player and something else.

Hence, Mal ware embedded in FB could get into my computer.

The FB scan was legit but it was not good enough to get rid of the mal ware

Even my computer store could not run virus scans and get rid of the mal ware until they contacted Fb and did something lol

However, the take away lesson is to update all your things lol
