I know this isn't my problem, but it becomes my problem when it will affect the rest of my friend's life. I want to report the drug dealer, I know his name, age, social media user, and what he looks like, but I won't have enough proof unless the authorities search his whole house, which I doubt they will even do. I'm also worried that people will find out I reported the drug dealer and as I mentioned he's in a gang.

Any advice is appreciated, thank you

Do REPORT him, he is in a gang which is conducive to violence! and sooner than later he will end up in jail anyways. This is not just a victimless crime when a gang is involved, gangs are highly correlated with violence.

A drug dealer operating within a gang is very different from a drug dealer operating independently.

Once the drugs come in she leaves her self vulnerable to sexual assault.

I know one leo that went that way wanting attention and admiration, shes practically a broken person now.

I don't know how much influencing pressure you have on her, but I whould get her away from them.

I would not take hypatia238 approach and report anything just yet.

The gang will find out that it was you and come back on you.

I know she means well, but her advice reminds me of a 50yrs old telling a 17 yrs old what she whould have done if she was faced with the same problem in the 1980's we are not in the 1980's.

Gangs involving drugs have become so much more powerful..

1980's textbook social theory to solve 2018 problems do not work!!!, need some refinement or complete revamping to work.

Out of curiosity what kind of environment do you and your friend live in.

Downtown? Middle class suburbia where no one really knows whats going on or thinks they do?

I wish you could get her away from all the negative influences that would be my approach.

I whould do that before ******* off a gang and then have them retaliate against me.

Gangs or organized criminals don't fear law.

As comical as it may sound when the mafia was on the verge of being taken down in Italy in the 80's -90's everyone involved had a combined total of 1000+ years in prison sentence. As if that sentence whould do anything...
