Ahhhh!

Me love charts & graphs long time.

Thanks AG. That site shows the full story.

Each decade is one more body blow.

The reforms that have been allowed to pass have all written in the margins loopholes for the banks to continue raping the middle class and the economy.

I have posted several of these charts on other threads, they were sneered at as not showing the truth.

...don't really care what some people continue to believe anymore.

hearing yesterday about BOA and the new debit card charges for using our own money had me remembering the move your money
advice. Use credit unions whenever possible. Use small local banks [the ones that survived the feeding frenzy] whenever possible.

China, Iran & Russia have better equality than the U.S.

Social mobility is the American Dream. And it is gone.

Yeah, I'd recommend that article for Republicans, too, only it'd either make them cry or alternately make them incredulous. I'm not a fan of either outcome.
This is the reality of the situation, though. It's a shame that the "featured comments" under the article aren't well thought out (ending with a couple lines that don't really make sense even).

It wouldn't load for me. Maybe the site was experiencing technical difficulties. I'll try again later. BTW, AG, congrats on your engagement!

true dat

I've been complaining about this since early spring....all of the introduced bills from the House had nothing to do with jobs! all too often they were about my reproductive organs.

So much for a less invasive government.

from your article:

quote:
49 percent said they believe that the Republicans are intentionally hindering efforts to boost the economy so that President Barack Obama will not be reelected

Mitch McConnell has stated ad nauseum that job #1 is making sure Obama is a one term prez. It is really interesting that so many conservatives, especially Fl conservatives are finally seeing the light?

The debt ceiling fiasco might have been the turning point for many americans. The obvious willingness [by pubs] to let our credit rating go into the dumpster was stunning to many.

Study: GOP’s Balanced Budget Amendment Would Double Unemployment Rate, Put 15 Million Out Of Work.

quote:
Republicans have taken to ignoring the obvious perilous consequences of the amendment even as voices on both sides of the aisle denounce it as the “worst idea in Washington.” The current amendment, former Reagan adviser Bruce Bartlett said, “looks like it was drafted by a couple of interns on the back of a napkin.”

Today, the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (CBPP) added to that criticism, releasing a study highlighting a piece from Macroeconomic Advisers that notes that such an amendment would make future recessions “deeper and longer” and saying that if a BBA had been enacted prior to the 2008 recession, the “effect on the economy” would have been “catastrophic.”
