I've never seen a president or administration lose so many lawsuits in federal courts across America.

Everytime O'Bomber turns around a federal judge or appeals court is slapping down more of his nonsense.

The O'Bomber plan was to slow down drilling for oil and natural gas while also increasing the costs to oil and gas companies by putting them through another review process...in addition to the review process which had already been done.

Federal judge throws out Obama drilling rules
MEAD GRUVER, Associated Press
Friday, August 12, 2011

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A judge on Friday threw out Obama administration rules that sought to slow down expedited environmental review of oil and gas drilling on federal land.

U.S. District Judge Nancy Freudenthal ruled in favor of a petroleum industry group, the Western Energy Alliance, in its lawsuit against the federal government, including Interior Secretary Ken Salazar.

The ruling reinstates Bush-era expedited oil and gas drilling under provisions called categorical exclusions on federal lands nationwide, Freudenthal said.

The government argued that oil and gas companies had no case because they didn't show how the new rules, implemented by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service last year, had created delays and added to the cost of drilling.

Freudenthal rejected that argument.

"Western Energy has demonstrated through its members recognizable injury," she said. "Those injuries are supported by the administrative record."

An attorney for the government declined to comment but Kathleen Sgamma, director of government and public affairs for the Denver-based Western Energy Alliance, praised the ruling.

"She completely discounted the government's argument that the harm was speculative," Sgamma said of the judge.

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 allows the BLM and Forest Service to invoke categorical exclusions and skip new environmental review for drilling permits under certain circumstances.

The circumstances include instances where companies plan to disturb relatively little ground and environmental review already has been done for that area. A categorical exclusion also can be invoked when additional drilling is planned at a well pad where drilling has occurred within the previous five years.

Categorical exclusions were widely used throughout the West — especially in the gas boom states of Wyoming, Utah and New Mexico — until last year.

In Wyoming, the BLM invoked categorical exclusions for 87 percent of the new gas wells drilled in the Upper Green River Basin between 2007 and 2010. Those drilling permits added up: Close to 3,000 over those three years in the basin's Jonah Field and Pinedale Anticline gas fields.

The Jonah Field and Pinedale Anticline ranked fifth and sixth for gas production in the U.S. in 2009.

Federal land agencies adopted new rules for interpreting the Energy Policy Act last year in response to an environmentalist lawsuit over the use of categorical exclusions. The Western Energy Alliance sued over the new rules last fall.

Well acoustic, you could list all those Bush losses right here!

However, Bush won the most important court case...Bush v. Gore, (531 U.S. 98, 121 S. Ct. 525).

I could, but why would I want to waste energy on something most of us remember quite well.

Yep, that was indeed Bush's most important win.

Randall, I certainly think that was the biggest court win for Bush...and at the Supreme Court level too.

Of course, leftists will never forgive Bush for beating their little wooden headed prince Algore.

Hey acoustic, are you just blowing smoke... again?

The only blowing smoke I've seen in this thread is trying to make Obama out as losing in court moreso than other Presidents, a claim that's obviously untrue, and laughable considering your precious George W's record.

Obviously, you're blowing smoke acoustic OR just don't know what you're talking about OR you would post the information right here and stop bloviating.

Only an idiot would consider my statement about George W. losing plenty of court cases "blowing smoke." Goading me just makes you look silly. If you really need a refresher, look up "Court blow Bush". You'll be astounded. Assisted suicide, guantanamo, global warming, war on terror, habeas corpus, etc.

It's one thing to be an unwitting ass, but when you knowingly ask for proof of something you already know to be true you just seem ridiculous.

I notice you still haven't provided a particle of evidence to back up your spurious claim acoustic.

Until you do, you're just blowing smoke out of your lower orifice...as usual.

First of all, why in the world are you convinced that you set the terms here? You're not.

Secondly, you're factually wrong. I did provide ample evidence to back up my claim. I told you very specifically how to find all the evidence you could ever want. That I didn't post those myriad articles is not proof that they don't exist.

The embarrassed smiley is right for you. You should be embarrassed by the mere notion that Bush didn't lose in court easily as much as Obama.

Judge says rule of law applies to White House, too
Orders Secret Service to disclose 8 months of records
Posted: August 19, 2011

A federal judge has ordered the Secret Service to release eight months of White House visitor logs it had previously kept hidden, an estimated "tens of thousands" of records from Obama's first year in office.

U.S. District Judge Beryl A. Howell – an Obama appointee – earlier this week ruled in favor of the government watchdog organization Judicial Watch, which had argued the Jan. 20-Sept. 15, 2009, visitor logs were agency records subject to public inspection through the Freedom of Information Act, or FOIA......

http://www.ratical.org/co-globalize/AmTapeWormP1.html#p2

she's a former bush and clinton administration insider who understands that the president either goes along or gets dragged along...and that we are being robbed for the sake of capital and control.

she has been talking about this despite death threats, umpteen tax audits and other attempts to intimidate her, for years.

remember pug winokur? his testimony to congress re enron was spookily similar to murdoch's before parliament this summer... http://dissidentvoice.org/Articles/FittsSmugPug.htm

and FOX ties right into this, scaring people about "socialism" when it is anything but.

The first plan is the "American Tapeworm" model (see Appendix I). Under the leadership of the Bush Administration (and before that, the Clinton Administration) and with the support of Congress and the Supreme Court, the American Tapeworm model is to simply finance the federal deficit through warfare, currency exports, Treasury and federal credit borrowing and cutbacks in domestic "discretionary" spending.

The resulting state and local deficits will then be financed with state and local tax and user fee increases, cutbacks, employee layoffs and increased borrowing. This will then place local municipalities and local leadership in a highly vulnerable position -- one that will allow them to be persuaded with bogus but high-minded sounding arguments to further cut resources. Then, to "preserve bond ratings and the rights of creditors," our leaders can be persuaded to sell our water, natural resources and infrastructure assets at significant discounts of their true value to global investors. This process of persuasion will be with a carrot and stick, the carrot taking the form of a piece of the action and the stick taking the form of the threat of targeting by smear campaigns and covert operations.

Global investors will purchase our discounted natural resources and infrastructure by reinvesting the trillions of dollars that have been stolen from our pension funds through dot.com and Enron-type pump and dump fraud (the recent $1.4 billion settlement with Wall Street indicated that investors have lost $8 trillion) and through money stolen from federal accounts (for more on the officially documented $3.3 trillion in "undocumentable adjustments" from the Department of Defense (DOD) and Housing and Urban Development (HUD) (see Appendix I).

Catherine Austin Fitts is the President of Solari, Inc. (www.solari.com), a founding member of UnAnsweredQuestions.org and member of the Advisory Board of Sanders Research Associates. Ms. Fitts is former Assistant Secretary of Housing-Federal Housing Commissioner in Bush I and a former managing director and member of the board of directors of Dillon Read & Co. Inc. She is currently litigating with Ervin and Associates (acting on behalf of the US government) and the Department of Housing and Urban Development related to John Ervin's efforts to stop responsible financial management in the US government mortgage insurance portfolios.

of course she is just one of many voices who are ridiculed and threatened for speaking out. it may be time for americans to get over their knee-jerk reaction to the word "SOCIALIST" and understand what is going on.
