And the gunman intended to shoot only one. That gentleman was shot straight in the head and passed immediately.

Unfortunately, everyone else was shot in the ensuing crossfire between the NYPD and the guman. Hollywood comes to NYC! More like the Wild West. Ride them up, cowbody.

kinda dents the theory that more armed people would minimize these events! though i am sure there are those among us (who say that life is but a joke...jk) who would say such jobs would be better left to civilians than the police.

Basically, what happenned to law enforcement protocol that you don't go into the wild west mode in a high density area? Bullets ricochet, and when shot at point blank in close range, cop full metal jacket bullets have the ability to ricochet off two to three walls and injure many people.

Juni, you little hippy, you.

I much prefer the original: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/All_Along_the_Watchtower

Though Hendrix's version is killer too.

Node, thanks for sharing. Well done by him as well.

So many have done a great job of covering that one.

The crazies are out in full force. A copycat brought a weapon to my local theatre, but a cop stopped him. Then bomb threats in my local theatre and in other Carmike cinemas all across the country. The FBI caught him, too. All phone conversations are monitored by a satellite. If you make a bomb threat via phone, you will get caught. DUH!

I agree, and I don't think there's anything wrong with honesty. People try to do better and be better when they're in the presence of an honest person.

A little too honest for some people.

Now I want to put on some Clapton!

randall, you come over pretty rude yourself at times. maybe take a few breaths and step back for perspective when you think people are being rude?

we all get the wrong end of the stick sometimes, and we all lose our nice-nice button sometimes too.

but mostly some people just don't seem to be able to read others' posts without taking offense...oil and water situations, i suspect.

I know when I'm rude, am very aware when I'm doing it, and I do so intentionally. Big diff.

well so you are INTENTIONALLY rude. that is somehow better than someone posting what is NOT intended to be rude but you take it that way?

Sure, I've been rude before, I'm human & sometimes it's necessary to drive a point home. I'm also "aware" of what I am doing and saying and tend to hold back here btw. But also, i've found people mistaking my humor for rudeness here, MANY times.

& what exactly was your point, Randall?

we have this problem a lot randall, where's your merc? (if you don't mind me asking?)

different people have diff ideas about where boundaries are. you can be VERY brusque at times.

for instance, i notice that ami thinks juni is hateful though no one else gets it...who is getting the wrong end of the stick? sometimes the receiver is over-sensitive and others the writer is UNDER-sensitive, and sometimes both..?

FYI i saw that short thread where you called ME rude...i thought it a bit rude to say so in a conversation i had nothing to do with but was very likely to see.

thanks.

Honesty is always the best policy and I'm an extremely honest person. IMO too much for my own good sometimes. One thing people can be sure about, when it comes to my interactions with people I've met online - I can back up anything I might have to say. I've been tempted to before, but havent gone that far.

You are the first person to ever call me rude in my entire life. I've been called and accused of a few outlandish things here by people and I have to admit that I find it all pretty humorous....in light of everything...
