Michael Moore: Practice the words ‘President Romney’
08/30/2012
Jeff Poor

In an appearance on The Huffington Post’s webcast on Thursday, filmmaker Michael Moore revealed that he is less-than optimistic about President Barack Obama’s chances against Mitt Romney.

Moore said the election’s going to come down to fundraising, and that Romney will have an edge over Obama.

“Mitt Romney is going to raise more money than Barack Obama,” Moore said. “That should guarantee his victory. I think people should start to practice the words ‘President Romney.’ To assume that the other side are just a bunch of ignoramuses who are supported by people who believe that Adam and Eve rode on dinosaurs 6,000 years ago is to completely misjudge the opposition.”

Moore told HuffPo Live’s Josh Zepps that money will translate into a better get-out-the-vote operation for the Republican Party.

“This election’s going to be decided on who gets out the most people that day, who’s up at four in the morning, making sure that dozens, hundreds, thousands of people in their communities are getting out to vote,” Moore said. “The Republican machine that is set up and the money behind it to guarantee [what] is really the only important thing — turnout on that day — that’s what looks pretty scary here.”

I just gave some money to Romney. It is sick how expensive it is to run a campaign but it is the reality. If enough small donors, give a little, it will add up.

I was invited to dinner with Mitt. Unfortunately, I had to disappoint him. It was only $50K for husband and wife.

Between the super pacs, Romneys personal wealth and busiess persons, I prefer to donate to the Food Bank and Animal Shelter.

Mitt Romney, Republican Presidential Nominee, Charges $75,000 A Ticket For London Fundraiser

Most people don't even spend $75,000 on a house deposit, but wealthy American bankers in London will be paying that for one dinner - with the man they hope will be the next President of the United States.

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney has a meeting scheduled with Prime Minister David Cameron on Thursday, and will hold two campaign fundraisers in London later that day.

He will hold a reception, where tickets are $2,500 (£1,600) per head, and a dinner, where donations of between $25,000 (£16,000) and $75,000 (£48,000) are expected per guest.

Here in MI, Moore was stumping hard for Obama... interesting he`s being so candid.

True but that "certain segment" is over all a small segment.

Middle classers , trust me, see that as a lot of moola for one dinner

i think they are all wrong. this election is not going to come down to who spends the most or raises the most. it is going to come down to who votes for third parties, and that is going to be a lot of people from what i've seen.

who those votes are taken away from will decide who wins. i doubt very much that the winner will be from one of those other parties, but the balance will be significantly affected.

though it upsets many, everywhere i go i see people who have repositioned their perspective on life.

being the richest man on the block is no longer enough to win admiration or sacrifice your life w/family and other interests for. people are more concerned with a quality of life that cannot be bought.

not that there is anything wrong with being rich. as i've said about romney, it is not the size of his bank account that offends, it is the PURSUIT OF MONEY AS THE BE ALL END ALL that stinks for so many.

be assured that if he becomes president the money-from-money folk will assume even more precedence than they have now. what is wrong with prospering by increasing the abundance of all? the so-called job creators are OBVIOUSLY no such thing. tax break after investment profit after bailout, they have created fewer and fewer jobs.

when will we ever learn? hopefully soon. in fact i think a lot of people have already figured it out. i am not practicing the words "president romney". i am looking for a plot to create a community garden. voltaire had a point!

i think the repubs should practice using the english language so they actually say something...

"I feel real good that if the election was held today, we’d be winning today. If the election is tied, we’re going to win the election," Priebus said during a press conference today kicking off the GOP’s "rapid response" effort during the Democratic National Convention

or is he saying that if it's tied it will be "decided" by the powers that be that romney is the winner???

is this intentional confusion or just negligence toward communication?

Obama Reports 3.1M Donors, Tops ’08

President Obama has amassed a donor base of 3.1 million Americans in his bid for a second term, surpassing his total from four years ago, Obama campaign officials announced today.

An infographic circulated by the campaign on Twitter shows Obama drawing significant support from small-dollar and repeat donors.

Two million supporters have given $25 or less in aggregate, the campaign reports. More than 1.4 million have given more than once this election cycle.

Underscoring the president’s support among women, the campaign said three women donated for every two men.

In 2008, Obama reported 3 million unique campaign donors.

President Obama has said the involvement of millions of grassroots supporters differentiates his campaign from that of GOP rival Mitt Romney.

Through June, the Obama campaign raised 39 percent of its total funds from donors who gave $200 or less in aggregate, according to the an analysis of Federal Election Commission data by the nonpartisan Campaign Finance Institute. Romney raised 15 percent of his funds from the same class of small-dollar donors. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2012/09/obama-camp-reports-3-1-million-donors/
