I feel the need to say this. I am not gonna argue about it. Please, dear God

I was praying hard, last night, for people to see the truth of Obama. It happened. Many people were praying.

There will be a time God will take His hand of protection off the US( and the world) If Obama wins, it is now.

If Romney wins, we have another chance.

That is my POV. It is not meant for a discussion, beyond the fact that I felt I was supposed to share it.

Blessings and Peace

Ami A, think the world of you and your sincerity, also think that God's Will always comes to pass one way or another.

it must be lovely to live in dreamland where your side is always right. and yet your side doesn't always win, so stressful too, eh?

this world is full of people who think god is on their side. if god is indeed in charge of everything, then he is at once on everybody's and nobody's side.

the idea that any one people are "chosen" is so much mental SOMA. how could so many different peoples be the chosen ones with the true religion? because authorities told them so...and as long as "faith" is based on wishful thinking, it will continue so, with each group thinking they are chosen and the rest are of the devil, however you depict the devil.

So God was fine with the Inquisition (those nations are mostly doing well today, especially as religion faded to the background).

And in the USA God was fine (or at least kept faith) when we slaughtered, raped, enslaved, and worse to the natives living here. The Trail of Tears, slaughtering buffalo to deprive the Plains tribes their ability to survive, and giving of blankets knowingly infected with disease didn't make God go, "Don't do that or I'll remove my hand of protection." Check.

And God was ok with the millions brought over in slavery as well. America still survived.

Endless cruelty has gone in America perhaps ever since it's beginning, children who sell their bodies to survive (which the courts typically learn to add to their coffers via fines, thus pimping children), and have busted heads of the innocent, destroyed lives over power & paranoia, children who suffer (including both foster kids & those in a Catholic orphanage who endured painful medical tests for the profits of a drug company), and created a class above the law while others find the law is meant to keep them down more than protect them but God says, "Don't worry, I got your back." Check.

The USA has funded tyrants and blood thirsty guerrillas from Nicaruagua to Chile, kept people like Osama to Hussein on the CIA payroll at one time or another, now tortures the innocent along with the guilty in prison camps (even just having the last name can get you sodomized by the CIA at taxpayer expense, such as happened to El-Masri), even declares groups like Food Not Bombs "food terrorists" but God is ok with that.

BUT...God will remove his protection if Obama wins a 2nd term. I think I speak for everyone here when I say, "Huh?"

Of course I don't believe any gods are protecting America (kinda wonder about the occult energies of the Pentagon, however) and really doubt any gods at all care one way or another whether Obama (or Romney) is POTUS (unless they are completely devoid of perspective or have values completely alien to humans capable of empathy). Nevertheless, I felt I was supposed to share this.

Well, it IS very highly political talking about God and elections. I don't mean to be rude, but I honestly and genuinely feel that the thread has a very strong political bent, given that it is discussing current political figures and the upcoming election. Even if it also includes God/God influencing the election, the political bent is pretty strong, and I simply felt it would be better suited to GU for that reason.

I will close it if you like, but if it were moved rather than closed, people could still discuss it over there. Please advise.

I just felt that it would be more fitting with the atmosphere and general subject matter of GU. But, again, please advise whether you want it closed or if you'd like to re-consider and simply have it moved.

For clarity, you are saying armageddon is contingent on who is elected president of the United States?

Yes, I think that if Obama wins, God has given us up to our sin. I know that people hate the word "sin". Hey, everyone hates it but we kill babies( abortion). We allow things which God hates( many things) God will not allow this, forever.

God waits. He loves us, but He will not wait, forever. His judgement will come. The Bible says that. The question is WHEN.

If Obama gets elected, we are done as a nation. How we go down, I don't know, but we will.

If we get Romney, we have time imo.

Obama or Romney...there will be no improvement over the current situation.

False hope there.

What we need is for people to wake up and start researching facts instead of following the mainstream media which LIES all the time. Then there will be protests about the neoconservative agenda that BOTH these monsters stand ready to carry out against innocent people.

Saying my peace.

This is about the debate right? Oh good Lord he coasted on confidence and got so darn lazy. That cool way about him (that's typically lauded) compared to Romney's quick firing was a stark contrast. Will be interesting to see what he takes from the criticism and how he portrays himself next go around. I actually enjoy watching the debates. Make no mistake I think a person has to have something wrong with them to want to be a leader of a country, or figurehead, what-have-you. But it's entertaining.

He is getting MORE arrogant. Thank God, he is not as slick as Bill Clinton. O'Bomber is not really slick.

i agree with lonake. it is hard to trust anyone who would run for president, although there HAVE been some very good men in the office.

mitt is the salesman. obama on the other hand is the president. perhaps he has a few things on his mind besides his performance - and perhaps the fact that mitt can just chuck his whole campaign and switch to positions he thinks will sell better is an indication of how shallow his ambition really is.

Obama has been accused of many things, and often rightly so, but armageddon if he dares be re elected? Wow.

I did not say O'Bomber would MAKE Armegeddon, himself.
I said that America will be ruined with 4 more years of Obama. We will never recover. God has taken HIS hand of protection off America and turned it over to what the people, foolishly want, and what will destroy them.

Maybe we should adopt Marxism–Leninism instead. Viet Nam not only kicked our arrogant butts out of their country but then ***** slapped China as well (and they had unbroken supply lines). And today they're doing pretty well with a great many people happy (and I not only get that from the handful I've spoken to online but also from people I've known who visited). (Granted, they're not anywhere as prosperous, and it's a bad idea to criticize the government, but they get by and seem to appreciate life more than the rest of the world.)

So maybe we should see what they're doing and hope God blesses us the same way.

And seriously, even by the more standard ruler (which often equates prosperity with happiness though I saw a chart that showed a stronger correlation for those countries more likely to spend disposable income on recreational drugs...), other nations continue to do a lot better than us when it comes to happiness, so here's a list:
http://www.forbes.com/2010/07/14/world-happiest-countries-lifestyle-realestate-gallup-table.html

Btw, note that the Swiss are doing better than us...they supported Obama for America in 2008 and I bet they still do.

More details here:
http://247wallst.com/2012/05/22/the-happiest-countries-in-the-world-2/2/

Btw, note how many of those countries aren't that religious anymore, at least not compared to the USA (many of whom are stunned by our Christian Right and that it has such political power). I don't think that's a coincidence. Especially if the devout are more concerned with how we vote than how we conduct our day to day lives.

I have faith in the American people and their power to survive another 4 years. We may not like it, we may loose a lot in the interim but America will still stand as will her people.

We do get what we pay for so we shall see what road the voters take and how difficult the years ahead may be.

Sorry to inject astro here (but the other election-themed thread I started in 2.0 got moved over to GU) ... the U.S. is coming to a point of crisis since it has its Sun in 13 deg Cancer, a degree that Uranus and Pluto will square (2014) for whoever gets elected (look to the date of 4/22/14 spec with that grand cross, and yes I'm fear mongering with this date but only to myself really since it's a theory). My stance remains that the loser in this election is the winner.
