Are we headed towards thermonuclear war ?

President Trump threatened on Tuesday to unleash “fire and fury” against North Korea if it endangered the United States, as tensions with the isolated and impoverished nuclear-armed state escalated into perhaps the most serious foreign policy challenge yet of his administration.

In chilling language that evoked the horror of a nuclear exchange, Mr. Trump sought to deter North Korea from any actions that would put Americans at risk. But it was not clear what specifically would cross his line. Administration officials have said that a pre-emptive military strike, while a last resort, is among the options they have made available to the president.

“North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States,” Mr. Trump told reporters at his golf club in Bedminster, N.J., where he is spending much of the month on a working vacation. “They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen.”

The president of the United States now for 50 years is followed at all times, 24 hours a day, by a military aide carrying a football that contains the nuclear codes that he would use, and be authorized to use, in the event of a nuclear attack on the United States. He could launch the kind of devastating attack the world has never seen. He doesn’t have to check with anybody, he doesn’t have to call the Congress, he doesn’t have to check with the courts.

I really hope not. I don't remember much about the scares in the eighties, but I've seen people talk about it over here, online. That they went through drills, and everything.

I also hope we won't see "nuke 'em all" comments, from the pubbies who claim to revere all life - "all lives matter", and refer to Liberals as baby killers.

It won't take any nukes to level that regime to rubble.

In your "critical thinking," do you accept an attack on Guam?

Accept? Or except?

What are you really saying?

Try more than a sentence.

President Trump speaks the only language that Lil Kim understands. But it's not about using nuclear weapons. We have 49 MOABs about to expire. Hate to see all that money go to waste.

Leftists...along with John RINO McCain and Lindsey RINO Graham have their hearts set on a nuclear war with Russia and, Trump isn't following along with their insanity. He's talking about wiping North Korea off the map if their little madman attacks the US or US allies.

In the meantime, leftists are pretending to cower under their desks, beds and in their bomb shelters.

Ohhhhh, Trump has the nuclear football.
What crap!

"Hate to see all that money go to waste"

We must get our money back by whatever excuse necessary. And wiping a country off the map.. what a manly turn of phrase. I'm swooning with awe...😤 at the obtuseness displayed here. Peacocks.

"Power like the world has never seen" of course. What else could the Best prez of the Best country say? And we have to use up our goodies. Value for $$ is our religion

Never mind that most of the dead have nothing to do with Bad Boy Kim's equally ridiculous mouth.. collateral carnage/ er, damage

Lil Kim`s sychophants and Big Don`s sychophants... not much of a difference is there.

Ahhh, Lindsey Graham

displaying more critical thinking:

quote:
Sen. Lindsey Graham asserted Thursday that the United States cannot attack North Korea until they are “willing to finish the job.”

In a radio interview with Hugh Hewitt, Graham said the best foreign policy for dealing with a homicidal regime is to “assume the worst.”

“So here’s what I would assume, that if I fire one shot at North Korea, they’re going to unleash all of their weapons against South Korea and Japan and our forces,” he explained. “So the day you shoot once, you’ve got be willing to finish the job.”

“And I would not fire one missile or drop one bomb against North Korea unless we were ready to finish the job,” Graham continued. “And that would be a horrible circumstance, you know, a lot of damage to our allies and American interests, but that’s the price we must pay or be willing to pay to protect the homeland from a nuclear attack by a crazy man.”

Really? Nuclear holocaust to "protect the homeland?" How exactly does that work?

These people are talking casually now about tactical nuclear war.

But he's not saying we won't get our hair mussed....20, 30 million tops...

Joe Scarborough: Donald Trump Repeatedly Asked Why We Couldn’t Use Nukes.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/scarborough-trump-nukes_us_57a1e47ae4b0693164c347d0
From Aug 2016

“I’m never going to rule anything out — I wouldn’t want to say. Even if I wasn’t, I wouldn’t want to tell you that because at a minimum, I want them to think maybe we would use them,” he said in an interview with Bloomberg Politics.

In a followup interview with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews, Trump sounded unconcerned by the prospect of mutual assured destruction, going so far as to ask why the U.S. constructed nuclear weapons if it couldn’t use them.

“Then why are we making them? Why do we make them?” he asked.

You leftist democrats and a couple of lunatic republicans, John McCain and Lindsey Graham have been agitating for a nuclear war with Russia.

Now, you act horrified that Trump will use whatever diplomatic and/or military force is necessary to put down the North Korean madman to prevent a nuclear attack on America or American allies.

What's up with you leftist hypocrites?

YOU people.. who are you talking to? No one here has agitated for war with anyone.. not for wiping Anyone off the map while saying "sorry" to the world for the destruction and mayhem that would entail.. nor using up our arsenal before the money is "wasted"

Meanwhile many poker players point out the p*ss poor body language exposing DTs bombast as bluff. He has joined the small club of loud mouthed cowards who think threatening obliteration for talking trash makes them look tough.

I remember this. I mentioned it, too, last year. **** him. They know that they will be protected somehow. Any threat, and our "wonderful" representatives will be stashed away somewhere.

How, exactly? By blitzing an entire country?

Really, some could say the same of our own "mad man". The one that you elected.

Millions of our own losses won't matter either, right?

and once again, I remember republicans saying that Clinton would get us into another war. As soon as their lord and savior Rump steps forward, and starts threatening war, it's necessary.

This won't be a war. By crushing that madman and his mindless minions, we will be doing the world a favor. And hopefully Iran will take notice.
