This is extremely relevant, thanks for posting.
Whenever Tax Cuts occur at times of Cash Stash with corporates, the excess cash NEVER goes into the enhancement of capacity and new jobs.
If Capacity is to be enhanced, the existing stash would have been suitably used for the same. Now, this excess funnels into Asset Price Inflation.
When Asset Prices inflate, speculative business involving leveraging escalate [Housing Bubble under Bush] and ultimately Elites exit through Put Options and Shorting at Highs, cleaning up the savings of more than 95% of a Nation.

This is the reason people must never be over-leveraged and must maintain 15-20% minimum in precious metals, and 5-10% in Stable Currencies like Swiss Francs. 35% must be in real estate and less than 40% in Cash and Stocks. Those with diversified Assets have nothing to fear in times of crisis.

Dear BlueRoamer,
Nobody can be ready for the Apocalypse.
I just try to prepare a bit for Financial Market crashes after the bitter experience of the Dot Com Crash in 2000-2001.
For a real Apocalypse, the only preparation one can do is Solar Power, Solar Water Pumps, Dry Grains and Reverse Osmosis Water Purification.
Puerto Rico is a Live Example. 550% of Puerto Rico has had a full fledged Apocalypse for months.

Yes Puerto Rico has been treated like absolute crap by the US, we tax them but don't help them in their time of crisis, we refuse to make them a state. It's a disgrace. And Trump throws a roll of paper towels at them, truly odious behavior.

Sorry Catalina to derail your thread, but I wanted to add about Puerto Rico : from an article of the washingtonpost october 6 2017 written by elise viebeck and joel achenbach, that I can't copy and paste the link for some reason, called

"Puerto Ricans are a surging, outraged political force in Florida in the aftermath of Maria"

quote:
It’s hard to overestimate Florida’s political significance — or the potential electoral impact of a major influx of eligible voters. The nation’s third-largest state boasts 29 electoral votes in presidential elections, an enormous and sometimes decisive haul often won by a razor-thin margin. Trump won Florida by fewer than 120,000 votes last year, aided more than past Republican candidates by non-Hispanic white voters. A boost of enthusiasm among Puerto Ricans — and a surge in their numbers, propelled by Maria — could alter that math in next year’s midterm elections and beyond.
