The Dems care more about illegal immigrants than they do about active service military.

I heard the Military will be paid and that all essential services will be take care of.

Also Trump boasted that there was a need for a "Good Shutdown", it is part of his MAGA Strategy.

Where did you hear those two things? I haven't heard of President Trump advocating for a shut down, and the military continue to work but won't be paid.

How is it that with REPUB control of WH, CONGRESS AND SENATE, anyone in their right minds could blame the Dems for any of this? Get Real already.

You need a reality check. Schumer is wearing the shutdown as a badge of honor. The Dems are taking credit for it, so we should let them have the credit they desire.

Also, the House passed a temporary spending bill with NOTHING in it that the Dems oppose, but they still won't vote for it. There isn't a DACA bill yet to even vote on! Like they have always done since President Trump won, all they care about is obstruction. BTW, the spending bill funds CHIP for six years. So, WHO is against CHIP? The Republicans!?! Guess again, Sherlock!

That dumb ass, Sh*thole Schumer, went to President Trump with a list of demands. If I were a Democrat, I'd be truly embarrassed at what my party has become.

The hypocrisy of democrats knows no bounds.

This is what hypocrite Schumer had to say about government shutdowns in 2013.

Hypocrite Schumer Had A Very Different View On Shutting Government Down in 2013

January 18, 2018

Shutting down the government is "the politics of idiocy, of confrontation, of paralysis."

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/fact-check-trump-claims-government-shutdown-would-hurt-military-n838761

The first "side deal" will be on paying the Military. Even Trump tweeted that in 2013, why are Republicans not believing their own President's older tweets?

End of the day, the Buck stops at the Top.
If the President rightly takes credit for the booming economy since Fall of 2017, then the President rightfully takes the blame for the shutdown. He is supposed to be the greatest Negotiator and Deal Maker. Could he not have convinced 9 Democrats with a simple carrot like CHIP and DACA guaranteed to pass in March or something?

Even Fox's Shepard Smith slams the GOP's act of placing blame on Democrats: "Never in modern history has there been a government shutdown with one single party in charge of the House, Senate and the Presidency". Blaming others is Loser Talk, does not befit boasters who claim huge wins.

Let me add that Shutdowns are a God send for the opposition. Republicans were rewarded by voters with House and Senate Flip after 2013 shutdown.
And that is when Obama had very good approval ratings compared to Trump. Sp politically, this shutdown will help the Blue Wave of 2018 midterms as Trump's disapproval rating has soared despite an excellent economic performance.

The Shutdown could eliminate much of the "Tax Cut" benefits as well. Trump by belittling thousands of honest journalists and media as "Fake News" has further hurt the chances of communication from the government establishment.

So it is all working out for Dems right now.

If Senate and Congress have Democratic Majority, Trump will get impeached, not for Collusion but for Money Laundering dozens of Russian Mafia Bosses cash through his dirty real estate projects from all over the World [Panama, Kazakhistan, Middle East etc]

"Even Fox's Shepard Smith slams the GOP's act of placing blame on Democrats..."'

You should get out more.

Shep Smith is the far left lunatic democrat Fox News likes to showcase at 3pm. The New York Times has their token..David Brooks and the Fox News Network has Shep Smith.

On a different note, you need some simple math tutoring.

The buck doesn't stop with President Trump because it takes 60 votes in the US Senate to pass most legislation.

Democrats are going to find out next November that voting against health insurance for low income children..CHIPS and voting against funding even basic necessities for our military personnel in the field..like...food, water, medicine, fuel, ammunition etc. puts them squarely in the bulls eye of those to be involuntarily retired from elected office.

So don't attempt to throw Shep Smith at conservatives. That won't even begin to fly.

If Shep Smith is so bad, why is he paid 8 million a year? Why does Fox not fire him?
Or is Fox going to be sold to Bezos or something?
Seriously, it is not about 60 seats, there is full control of law making process, make a deal and get on with it. Crying like losers when they cannot get things right does not befit a ruling party.
Let GOP learn basics of Governance: Get everyone on board. Hatred of Dems is just immature. GOP failed. Period.

Idiocy!

The Senate Filibuster Rule makes it impossible to pass most legislation without support from both parties. With 12 democrat Senate seats up for reelection in 2018...many in states President Trump won handily, Republicans may have their 60 vote, bullet proof majority.

For now, we have The Schumer Shutdown of government. 57% of Americans think keeping government open and operating is much more important than granting amnesty to illegal aliens.

Pat Caddell, democrat pollster of long standing!

Pat Caddell on Shutdown: Democrats Have ‘Lost Control of Their Base’
Robert Kraychik
20 Jan 2018

Democrats “have lost control” of their base and membership, said veteran pollster Pat Caddell while commenting on the day’s “government shutdown.”
Caddell’s remarks came in a Friday interview with Breitbart News’s Senior Editor-at-Large Rebecca Mansour on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Tonight.

“They have got themselves locked in on this question about DACA,” said Caddell, pointing to broad Democrat prioritization of pursuing legislative amnesty for illegal immigrants styled after the Obama administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) policy.

Democrats will politically damage themselves by prioritizing pursuit of a DACA-style amnesty bill while neglecting border security, said Caddell. Widespread Democrat support for “sanctuary cities,” he added, is an unpopular position across the broader public.

“Yes, DACA itself is very popular, but so are the positions that Trump has laid out that also need to be part of any deal,” said Caddell. “Those are also popular. Sanctuary cities are not popular. Simply amnesty by itself is not popular. Most of all, protecting the border is popular, whether people like the idea of a wall or not.”

“Democrats certainly understood in December that this was not a good idea to shut the government down over DACA,” said Caddell. “They’ve lost control of their base.”

President Donald Trump should publicly highlight the damage done to “children and the military” by most Senate Democrats, said Caddell, pointing to broad Senate Democrat rejection of full funding for federal government operations via the continuing resolution.

“I don’t see in the end how the Democrats benefit,” said Caddell regarding the shutdown. “If the president says, ‘This is not part of the budget, and we’re not going to give it, and you’re hurting children and the military.’ And we will start seeing evidence of that very quickly … The effects are going to pretty immediate and pretty real to people, and they’re going to be ticked off.”

Caddell further advised Trump to cast Senate Democrats who voted against Friday’s continuing resolution as subverting the well-being of their states and the broader nation. The president should also frame these Senate Democrats as subservient to their party’s leadership instead of their constituents, he added.......

Trump told Fox & Friends(in 2013) that the ultimate blame for a shutdown lies at the top. "I really think the pressure is on the president," he said.

And how many times has he said a "good shutdown" would straighten things out? I'm seeing stories from May and September off the bat..

Democrat out of step with America...again, or, should I say...still.

CNN poll: 'DACA not worth a shutdown, except to Democrats'
Thomas Lifson

Even CNN, which copped four out of ten "Fake News Awards" from President Trump, gets it, even if Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi don't. I cannot imagine a headline like this, or even poll results like this, being reported by progressive media pre-Trump.

Jennifer Agiesta writes at CNN.com:

With hours to go before a midnight deadline for Congress to fund the government or shut it down, most Americans say avoiding a shutdown is more important than passing a bill to maintain the program allowing people brought to the [U.S.] illegally as children to stay, according to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS.

But Democrats taking a hard line on legislation connecting government funding to the popular program known as DACA appear to have the backing of their constituents ...

[Fifty-six percent] overall say approving a budget agreement to avoid a shutdown is more important than continuing the DACA program, while just 34% choose DACA over a shutdown. Democrats break narrowly in favor of DACA – 49% say it's more important vs. 42% who say avoiding a shutdown is the priority – while majorities of both Republicans (75%) and independents (57%) say avoiding a shutdown is more important.....

No need to deflect. Every grade schooler knows it takes 60 votes in the Senate to reach a budget, and the Republicans only have 51. Let's see what Dems are remaining after November.

Corey Lewandowski: ‘Schumer Shutdown’ Puts Illegal Aliens Ahead of Americans Who ‘Serve Our Country’
Sean Moran
20 Jan 2018

Corey Lewandowski, President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager, slammed Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) at the South Carolina Tea Party Convention on Saturday. Lewandowski argued that by shutting down the government, Schumer and the Democrats put illegal aliens ahead of those who “serve our country.”
Schumer, along with Senate Democrats, shot down a stop-gap spending bill that would fund the government until February 16. The spending bill would also fund the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and delay several Obamacare taxes.

Now that Schumer and the Democrats shot down the spending bill, the government shut down. Republicans blamed Schumer for the shutdown, calling it the “Schumer Shutdown.”

Lewandowski argued, “This Schumer Shutdown we have, you know what it has done? It has put non-U.S. citizens in front of our military. It has put people who are here illegally as more important than people who have come here legally and serve our country every day.”.....
