I've been dealing with chronic fatigue for years. I always just assumed it was a natural byproduct of being a night owl/working night shift.Well, I've been on a normal schedule for over a year and I'm still dealing with severe fatigue. I go to bed pretty early and sleep 8, 9, or even 10 hours and still wake up feeling like I didn't get any sleep. It (fatigue) seems to be getting worse over time too. I went through different medical tests earlier in the year at the student clinic and they couldn't really find anything wrong. However, I started taking daily vitamin supplements like D3, B12,and Iron just to see if they would help and they didn't. Now it's early in a new fall semester and I have reached total exhaustion. It doesn't matter how early I go to bed or how long I sleep... I stay f***ing exhausted. If you could watch me in my college classes you would see me repeatedly yawning and stretching throughout the day. This issue is affecting my performance in the classroom, at work, and in my daily routines at home. It freaking sucks to feel exhausted 24/7. I get angry and depressed and feel hopeless. I just want to go to sleep and not wake up. I am fairly certain that I have sleep apnea. I have been told by multiple people that I snore. The problem is I am uninsured and cannot afford a sleep study. I have tried looking into it and they would all want me to pay half or full price up front for a study. And that doesn't cover the hundreds or thousands I would need to buy the proper machine to treat my condition. Needless to say, I cannot afford all that because I am a broke college student. So, that's where I am at... I just have to deal with this issue and let it fester and get worse because I cannot afford the healthcare I need. IP: Logged |

I dealt with chronic fatigue for a short time a while back, and the moment I started doing some Yoga related to breath, it disappeared, turns out it creates energy.IP: Logged |

Are you eligible for health insurance through your university? I know at my school the premiums were high for a student but financial aid would cover it if needed. Even if you had (for instance) to take out a small student loan to cover your health insurance premiums, it maybe worth it, given your health issues. Are you eligible for Medicaid? IP: Logged |

I may have a solution for you. If you are willing to spend a few bucks (at Walmart), try taking a magnesium supplement. It sounds very likely that you are deficient. Take at least 400 milligrams at night about an hour before sleep. Be sure to take it on an empty stomach, because it neutralizes stomach acid. That means stop eating at night, or wait two hours after. It is also a muscle relaxer, so you will sleep well from that aspect. If you are deficient, you can't get enough from your diet to restore the body's stores, but if that's the cause, you will see positive results very quickly. IP: Logged |

I have a few suggestions1.Listen to Henry W Wright. He talks a lot about this and how to remedy it 2. Eat raw as much as you can. 3, Make wheat grass juice fresh but this may be too much work so get a good quality one from Amazon. I get one for about 25 dollars and it lasts a long time 4. cooked foods slow you down. 5 Study GMOS. These really tire you out. If my son eats them, he feels really fuzzy. I try never to eat them, which is not easy if you eat out xxoxooxox ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? Check Me Out, DUDE. http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

I like your thinking, StubbornVirgo.. but it's not wise at this time to ADD more DEBT if you can help it. Venus in Scorpio getting ready to go retro! Wait until after Thanksgiving????It "used to be" that IF a student was in college, they are allowed to remain umbrellaed under their parents' health plans until they reach 26yo. You can apply to Medicaid, if you haven't done that yet. See if you qualify. You might even quality for foodstamps. I know a guy who is from a wealthy family, who recently applied, and, is now on foodstamps while he's in college. (Every little bit helps.) There are also some "free clinics" you could get a check-up from. If there is a phoneline for 'UnitedWay and Crisis services' in your state, give them a call. They will tell you 'where' the various clinics are. They have all the social-services connection information you could need. Hope you are a Registered Voter??? - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Senate_elections,_2018 If you are an out-of-state student, make sure you know the rules. Medically-- You could ask for a test for mononucleosis? (I was shocked that I was diagnosed with this myself, during in my college years. Make you feel like you are a snail.. dragging...). If you live around a place where ticks are prevalent, you might want to be tested for viruses that these bring. Again, I knew someone that had this, and it wiped him out with MONTHS of extreme tiredness. If you're around 25/26 years old?, be careful with supplements that throw off your electrolyte balances. It's flukey, but, some college kids around that age will have episode with (temporary) heart problem (IF you are genetically predisposed without knowledge, and up are doing sports OR are active outdoors in the heat-- even if just for long walks-- stay hydrated, stay out of the strongest heat of the day, if you can help it). Generally too---- Astrologically, there's been a grand-cross going on. We just got done with having 7 planet retrograde during the summer. SATURN transit in your chart can WEIGH you down. Some of the transits can feel like you're carrying the world on your shoulders. Skies have been gnarly, and it's not done yet. Some people 'feel' these with their body. Be cautious, too, about depression? I know that when you get too depleted, that, it could be easy for you to become depressed. There are college student programs for those who need a group or talking-buddies to overcome some of the darker feelings that college students have been KNOWN to suffer while under the heavy loads they carry in their college years. Don't forget to include some Play time, during your study-programs. Wishing you Health, Wealth, and Great Connections Keep up the good work!! Going to college will increase your ability to get better employment in the future. Congratulations in advance. *shine* IP: Logged |

Oh no. .. I don't usually visit this forum, and I read your opening post in here-- - http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum27/HTML/002651.html I hadn't noticed the part where you talk about your health... I'm soo sorry I missed that in my response! I was just glad to see you back. So. Do you still have the dx of COPD?? Dang. There's another reason for being tired?? The side-effects of some of those medications can destroy functioning of the 'adrenal glands'. You might read the side-effects and get checked for problems listed under those? IP: Logged |

About 3/4 of Americans are deficient in magnesium, which affects 300 vital body processes. It's a cheap fix to try.IP: Logged |

Beware, college loans are a legalized scam in the USA (trading school is better, IMO, unless you have a specific career in mind that requires more), and there isn't much medical science can do for you other than run overpiced tests. I know someone who did get tested for sleep apnea, and it required time and money (including sleeping in a medical room) and in the end they just gave her something to stick in her nose and mouth that didn't even work. Someone else with sleep apnea stopped suffering it for the most part when he stopped taking so many allergy pills (which he had to stop because it was causing other problems). And I know a guy who went to have his thyroid tested because of how tired he was but instead was peddled depression meds that caused him to have a psychotic reaction and put him in the hospital. I'm afraid hospitals have no room to be talking about others outside their field being greedy, unprincipled scam artists. Wish I had something better to say than what I knew of others with sleep apnea and/or chronic fatigue, and wish you well. I also wish I had more time to look it up but I'm going to have very little time for LL for now (and only stopped here briefly to share something on another thread). Even this time I won't be checking subforums outside of SPITR. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I take magnesium supplements, although for different reasons. I hope he checks this thread. There are many things it could be. Whether he chooses a free clinic, Medicaid or private insurance, a good check up would not be a bad idea for him. IP: Logged |
