Very painful for me, went to see Moms in the "recovery home"

Last stroke took her speech away

We sat and "talked" she is a pisces, I'm well my messed up chart, and she put her hand to her mouth and covered it

We looked each other in the eyes, and just talked

If that makes sense

Faith, I think sometimes, lovers, soldiers and family just do not need to speak

No words needed so to say

When my mom got mad at me words never needed to be spoken. It was a hot cup of STFU for this gemini mars in the 3rd.

I apprecaite where you are coming from AG.

For me however, as youngish man used to babysit for a couple who were friends of mine

A baby more or less, she could not speak so she'd communicate via pinches and touches and going to sleep etc

Bit different seeing your own mom doing the same thing.

Life comes in a circle AG, never forget that

Well Brother, what Moms would say is "you are taking this completely to seriously!"

Did not appreciate the lol stuff, also know you.

Which also misses the point of my OP

Sometimes, words are not really needed

Padre,
Was not laughing at you. Was just trying to bring some humor to the thread by sharing an experience with my mother. I figured since you were a sag you would understand that.

No worries

Suspect this is one area most youngish folks fall down on, it's not what you say it is how you say it, intentions are great, it is how they are sub communicated that matters

Padre,
I know what you are saying though. I was 13 when my grandma passed on. Went to see her in the hospital and she could not speak as she was hooked up to a machine that was helping her breathe. I just held her hand for awhile and her firm squeeze and eyes said it all. I will never forget that moment for the rest of my life.

As I've said no worries, this thread may not last, rather my point is not the life and death sort of nature of end of life

Rather how ppl can just click with someone else in the outside the net world..w/o saying a word

Granted we live in a world of Tinder now, still

Sorry to hear about the situation. It is hard when words cannot express the emotional magnitude of a situation. The power of expression and body language is incredible, and this shows that despite what your mother has been through, it will never break the love between you.

I totally understand you.
I've been posting around the website that this last year has been difficult for me; and one of the reasons is because on 28 Nov 2013, I came home to find my dad unable to speak as a result of a severe stroke. Although he can say a few things now, it will never be the same and it's very difficult. So I stand with you in electronic solidarity with you on this xxx

It's true, they become almost baby like in their communication. I remember spending a few hours today asking my dad basic numeracy and literacy questions to try and get his mind working abit quicker etc. It definitely helped; but I would say that aphasia is a barrier. When someone you love experiences a stroke, it becomes a test of how much you knew them before it happened. Because you're able to pick up on their emotions, even though their communication skills are not 100%.

Thank you for your kind words Ungumuda. I hope your father is much better now. I think, I've learned to take his recovery a day at a time now - it definitely helps xx

Yeah, that takes a lot less out of her, I'm sure.

Love you lots, Padre.

Music helps heal. It's the only thing that brings both sides together in the brain.

May you both Be Strong.
