I think the fact of the matter, or rather, the radical realism, of things matters so here goes: -You get old and cannot learn new things -Young ppl have nothing to say that matters, after all, they are "young" -Old people have noting to say, after all, they are "old" -Everyone HAS to be married, men or women, if not then one is defective somehow -Anything done "for da childrenz" is of course, proper -No need for GMO labels, after all it is "safe" -Don't even try, it is to hard -Anything easy is not worth it -Want to be happy then be wealthy -Coal fired power plants are "bad", 300% increases in power bills are "good" -Food from a paper bag is of course, good for you -All atheists are immoral -All those of faith are moronic rubes who were forced to be religious via their parents This list of societal memes is nearly endless, feel free to add to them..or not IP: Logged |

The first one... When I went to college there was a woman who was 84 years old that graduated. She said simply, "if you don't use it you lose it." She refused to be bored or to not exercise her brain so she went to college, for the heck of it.

I would lie if I said I gave one f uck about how one is "supposed" to behave. Only thing that matters to me is more knowledge except the knowledge about why some humans are stupid. IP: Logged |

True, these are merely but a few of the priori lines of thinking that happen every minute, of every day

That there is only one path to "success":1. Go to School to get a degree for a job that will pay well regardless of if it's not your passion/what you enjoy. *And if you don't, you're bound to be unemployed and a nobody on the streets. 2. Do said job working tons of hours so that you can buy all those fancy cars and clothes that you really need. *So that all of your friends, family, and neighbors can know how accomplished you are. *Also, don't get so down about working yourself to death and missing out on life doing something you hate, you always have retirement... Hopefully. Just follow steps 1 and 2 and your life will be made Good list

Almost everything is a lie, from how you should behave, what you should eat, who to vote for, who to pray to - and why -, what you should do with your life. Verify all of it through your personal filter, use your brain. 90% of what we've been told is crap. ------------------ ~the raving one dancing in the nude~ IP: Logged |

Men's worst fear..along with GF's opinions Hard truths: No, not everyone will like you Love is not roses and butterflies Yep, stop eating so much No, do not tell me you love when you are drunk, you're drunk Yes, bad things happen to good people, yes the miserable tend to excel Good truths Sunday Dinner Yes Nana will watch them Yes, your taste is excellent! A smile not only hides a sword, it also is a symbol of joy Mom's worry, Dad's ponder

Hey, Padre;Wanted to mention that I had a Niece who flew in a couple of weeks ago from your neck of the woods. Kind of tripped me out when she mentioned the town. Small world, eh? IP: Logged |

We didn't talk much about it.Mostly I just told her that Earth Guild was there, when she asked me to Teach her how to make a Dream Catcher. I think she models. You might be interested, too. They have an awful lot of Craft Supplies, and such. Think I got one of my Looms from there. Earth Guild

Cool have been by Earth Guild lots of times, it is near the downtown library and on the way to "Bar Avenue" They have looms right in the window I'm more into food production than weaving. Thing with Asheville is it is like 5 towns in one, North, South, Central, West, unincorporated areas, vastly different social circles Everyone from back to the earth, to rednecks, to alternative lifestyle folks, hardcore religionists You can literally have a nuclear physicist chatting with a chef chatting with a preacher chatting with a gay couple Quite a mix really IP: Logged |
