To me, he seemed very cool and very genuine. I just saw an interview with one of the victims and she does seem to be telling the truth but who knows?------------------

I'm just going to be honest here. I'm immediately suspicious of any woman who claims that she was raped. The reason being is it's pretty much gotten trendy for women to say that they are victims of rape. And furthermore it's impossible to prove most of the time and people aren't going to challenge it, they are just going to believe the story and take it at face value. It's a pretty handy card for women to play if they want to emotionally manipulate people or garner sympathy. Having said all of that, I genuinely feel sorry for women who are actually rape victims. But I think alot of women trivialize those womens experiences by lying and saying they were raped when they really weren't. As for Bill Cosby, I couldn't see him doing something like that, but you never know..IP: Logged |

Please don't put "rape" and "trendy" in the same sentence. Please, let's be sensitive and empathetic to the suffering of others by avoiding the urge to trivialize or generalize a traumatic experience on the basis of the actions of a very VERY VERY few people. IP: Logged |

and a lot of your posts have undertones of misogyny, which doesn't help sry if it seems i am attacking you. i am. it's happened to me, so i tend to believe rape victims. maybe i'm biased. and yes, the guy who did it immediately tried to turn it around and make up some whack lies about the situation that were obviously not true. he was a sleazeball. do not be the sleazeball who defends the sleazeball. and honestly, if someone says they were raped, and the first thing that comes to your mind is that you think they are lying, that's a problem.
you should be thinking of whether or not the other person is guilty. there is a difference. i think in the first instance it's called victim blaming? in a way.
because you want to prove that the

WOW. I MEAN WOW.If anyone has worked in hollywood or knows anyone who has, famous people are protected ALL THE TIME. I repeat ALL THE TIME. Remember Woody Allen's daughter? It took her decades to feel comfortable to share her story, people are silenced all the time. People are afraid to come forward because they are bullied and threatened, and are often paid to go away. If the higher powers accuse you of lying and have the influence in the industry, who is going to believe you? Combine that with a rape-friendly culture, people become too ashamed and afraid to speak up. When people say things like "oh shes/hes lying," "its for attention," it reinforces the notion that it is okay to rape people because rape apparently only happens if we saw it with our own eyes. So, yes I think he is guilty as hell, especially since he is refusing to address it. It isn't just one accusation, it is several accusations, just like Brian Singer. Child and adolescent molestation, rape, and sodomy are things that are very prevalent in this industry, but covered up big time. We don't see the personal side of celebrities much, just because they don't appear to "look" like someone who would rape people doesn't mean they don't have a dark side. This is not just a women's thing either, young boys are taken advantage of too. It is a sick and disgusting industry that I highly encourage people to stay away from: you either end up giving up your body or soul to get to the top, because people will not give 2 shites about you. RAPE IS NOT A TREND. PERIOD. Disgusting attitudes like this are a part of the rape friendly culture that keeps both men and women in fear from telling their story.

That is true, I did say that. I think women who have been raped should report it. If they have actually been raped they would be helped and see the rapist brought to justice. There's no reason for a woman who lives in The U.S.A or other western countries not to report a rape. The Laws and police force are on women's side plus they have all sorts of other help and services. Just the other day I signed back up for pof because I wanted to give online dating another. One of the first girls I talked to after signing back up ended up telling me a sob story about how she has been living with an abusive man since August. She said he beats her, takes her money and food, and sometimes rapes her. She told me she locks herself in her room and tries not to set him off. Of course being a man my first instinct was to feel sorry for and try to help her. I googled womens shelters and found a ton in my town! I gave her numbers and urged her to call and get help. Well... She quickly started making excuses as to why she couldn't go to a woman's shelter. One of them being "I can't go because those are for women who really have it bad".... Wuh?!?!? So she is supposedly being beaten,raped, and starved by an evil controlling man but she can't go to a woman's shelter because she doesn't have it rough? Yeah... Because that makes total sense... Bottom line is I could tell she was a liar when she made up every excuse not to get help when she was "supposedly" in this desperate situation... The bottom line is I think any woman who was truly in a situation like that would do whatever it took to get the f*ck out of there... I'm sorry but I just don't believe women who refuse to get help and let it be settled in court. I was nice to her, offered to help, but I didn't believe a dang word she was saying. IP: Logged |
