Anyone wanna try? This could be fun. We can do "readings" for each other and see if we get any hits...and maybe see how crazy inaccurate our guesses were!

If you've seen psychics on TV or visited one, you know the routine:

Psychic: "So...there is someone important in your life with the letter....mmm....J?"

Client: "No...."

P: "Or G, maybe?"

C: "Well there IS my Uncle George...."

P: "Right. Did he have a thing with, like, toy soldiers?"

C: "Ummmm...he was in the military..."

P: "YES. And when he was young he played with toy soldiers! K, so this is your validation that George is coming through and wants you to know---"

C: "Well Uncle George isn't dead yet..."

P: "Well, when's the last time you heard from him? Are you suuuure?"

I was watching a bunch of YouTube videos last night featuring several different psychics and mediums. What surprised me was how often these people get it wrong, awkwardly so, or they just confuse the person they are doing the reading for, maybe by talking about things the person is not aware of (yet.) Maybe they have an imperfect grasp on the information coming through.

That made me realize that in order to be psychic you have to be okay with a little bit of failure and humiliation. Just because you get a number of things wrong doesn't mean you aren't actually pulling in a number of things that are right.

I've gone through phases where I am psychic; one night I sprang a "reading" on my brand-new coworker, and was right 100% of the time, after which she studiously avoided me. Now that Neptune is creeping up on my moon, I feel like I should try and get an early start working with a possible influx of psychic data. And with Neptune being in Pisces, I suppose we're all more sensitive than usual.

Normally I don't even TRY to be psychic because it's just a strange social context. Imagine how badly that could go off? "Oh hey, I'm getting wind of miscellaneous facts about you...you collect actual sea sponges and coral? Really? How'd THAT start???"

LOL

But I wondered if it would be possible to conduct a goofy social experiment here at LL, where people just guess things about each other??

Like, can you GUESS anything about me? Can you GUESS the color of the carpet I am sitting on, and what kind of tea I just drank?

Want me to try and guess stuff about you? Just for fun of course, and I wouldn't mention anything personal even if it did "come through." Ask a specific question or just ask me to do a general reading.

*Free psychic readings available and requested*

I wonder if people with angular suns and moons (in houses 1, 4, 7, 10) are easier to pick up stuff about than people with luminaries in the cadent houses (3,6,9,12).

I feel like it would be easy to guess stuff about me because so much of my chart connects to my ASC. The one time I went to a real psychic, she did pick up a lot, but especially about stuff relative to my angles, or about issues related to planets that touch my ASC.

But she thought my mother was alive, and she basically didn't impress me with a sense that she could see much about my personality. My sun and moon aren't anywhere near any angles.

OMG hanna

No my carpet isn't green, but my very first thought about this experiment was, I was looking at a tube of shower gel that's lime green and for no reason I could place, I thought of you.

So I actually wrote your name on a page with lime green next to it. It's the first thing I wrote down.

MEANINGFUL

Will you keep going? What tea was your guess?

I've got other jibberish written down about a few of the people here, just waiting for people to be curious and ask me to tell them what it is. LOL

Yes it's weird but honestly how else can I figure out if I'm psychic or not? I need guinea pigs! And I will be a guinea pig, if anyone thinks they are catching anything about me, just ask.

(As long as the question is not rated X.)

Oh!!!! Pardon my delayed reaction, I'm new at this...

I should say that MOST of the carpet in this house is green. I am like one foot away from green carpet, I'm sitting by the door, but in a room that's carpeted another color. (The people we bought this house from wanted wall-to-wall carpet in three different colors? Go figure. )

We'll re-do it one of these years.

Anyway you were literally very close. How many people have wall-to-wall GREEN carpet? But I do.

Yeah for some reason I've been really drawn to the color green lately, I put some lime green streaks in my hair on the tips recently too! Just remembered.

Okay tea... Earl Grey?

Lime green streaks would look great on you! I like it...'can see it in my *psychic* mind's eye now.

Not Earl Grey but close. I'll explain after maybe some other people take guesses? Or a little more time goes by without anyone caring? LOL

Btw, just in case anyone's interested, this video was the main inspiration for this thread:
Rebecca Rosen on Nightline

I get the idea Rosen is psychic, based on other shows that she was on and her performance here, but she messes up a lot, too. They show her "bloopers" at the end (starting at 6:15.) *wince*

Here's another video, probably the most convincing reading by a medium I've seen yet:
Life After Death: A Medium conducts a reading with a Non-Believer

Yay! Hi Juni!

I don't know what color your shoes are, someone must've ripped that page out of the Akashik records.

J/K...You wouldn't throw me a trick question and ask that when you're wearing rainbow iridescent Aquarian shoes would you?

Hmm..

Well I can't see them so maybe they are really dark like black (ie camouflaged at night )

---

Yes I like green beans but I think you may have been picking up on my weird lunch of broccoli slaw (cut into long green slivers!)

YES. It's more like, my country road is set on a ridge that overlooks a valley. I walk down the road and there's a view of the valley below and distant mountains that I call "Switzerland." So I tell my family, "See you later, I'm walking to Switzerland."

I haven't walked there yet this season (we just got to this house) but we drove by yesterday and there appeared to be a mountain lion crouched in the bushes...we've been talking about it a lot. My mind has been in that area a lot.

You with your moon conjunct Neptune!

ETA: ALSO my field slopes down pretty steeply in one area, for about 200 yards, and I trudge up and down for exercise. Been doing that every day.

Oh yay that guess actually felt like the least intuitive one. Bergamot came in my head and I had to look up if it was even a tea (maybe just some association made with earl grey and oh probably why I thought gray coat though I did visualise it too.

But the hill came via an image of a relative who likes to walk to the top of this hill. And then you intersect with her. Hence it seeming less intuitive. I pictured it with a ridge to the left like a valley and could feel the urge to go as palpable

Edit right the ridge was right and down lol I'm quitting for a bit

Dang, so close! Faith, I'm sure you're tired of repeating them but I read so many people's threads on here I can never remember their placements. What are yours again?

And what kind of pet do I have?

Gosh Juni, your mysterious shoes are driving me crazy! Are they dark violet patent-leather flats with little rosettes or beads on them?

If you don't have those shoes, I highly recommend them, they look so good on my imaginary you.

Correct, as I walk down it is on my right.

Funny, I keep getting impressions about people like, they are facing north, they have their back to the south-facing window...stuff like that.

And I also compare people to others with my "intuition." Someone reminds me of someone else who becomes like my template.

@violet

I've been blowing a lot of money lately, more than usual, and that makes me feel lucky...like, "Look at all this stuff I got!!" LOL

I will consult my crystal ball about you in a little bit.

@hanna

Let's see is it a parakeet? Or chihuahua with sparkly collar? Either way, something small, fluffy, and pretty.

Key placements below, my moon is square Neptune which I think prevents me from getting a clear view of things?

6H Capricorn sun, 6H Aquarius Mercury, 8H Pisces moon, Leo rising

ROTFL that drives me crazy! (ETA: Because I thought I could see these technicolored sneakers, but didn't want to insult you by suggesting you were wearing something really outlandish.) And yes I felt something weird was going on with the laces.

Yes, just started eating it again after eating minimal dairy for several months. The thing is, my sons drink Kefir constantly and call it yogurt, so right after I read this question, I walked out to see what my son was doing and he asked for yogurt.

I over-thought about you and have to go back to square one, getting raw instincts...it's the instantaneous stuff that tends to be more accurate. I think?

One thing that popped into my head for you is Twizzlers.
