Leonard Nimoy, of Star Trek fame as Spock, has recently been immortalized in the heavens... in the form of an asteroid.

http://www.slate.com/blogs/bad_astronomy/2015/06/06/asteroid_4864_nimoy_named_for_leonard_nimoy.html

Formerly known as 1988 RA5, 4864 Nimoy is about 10km across and orbits the sun between Mars and Jupiter about every 3.9 years.

Looking it up on astro.com (which hasn't quite updated the asteroid name yet, give'em a bit), 4864 Nimoy seems to make some interesting aspects in my chart that I thought were interesting:

For me, 4864 Nimoy (17° Leo 23' 5")
- Conjunct
-- 447 Valentine (16° Leo 26' 54" | House 9) - Think Pon-Faar (sp?)
-- 10961 Buysballot (16° Leo 40' 24" | House 9)
-- 22533 Krishnan (18° Leo 34' 13" | House 9) - Certainly wise.
- Opposition
-- 17612 Whiteknight (18° Aqu 41' 25" Rx | House 3)
- Square
-- 42355 Typhon (16° Tau 15' 44" Rx | House 6)
-- 2228 Soyuz-Apollo (16° Tau 48' 5" | House 6) - I remember him and Walter Koenig (Chekov)
-- 399 Persephone (18° Tau 2' 26" | House 6)
-- 140 Siwa (18° Tau 22' 34" | House 6)
-- 4659 Roddenberry (16° Sco 18' 26" | House 12) - Honestly, I'm not sure if they were the best friends or if there were ever disagreements between them...?
-- 6216 San Jose (18° Sco 15' 55" | House 12) - Well, they did film in sunny California.
- Trine
-- 3402 Wisdom (17° Ari 13' 11" SRx | House 4) - Definitely wise beyond even his years.
-- 2249 Yamamoto (17° Ari 45' 53" Rx | House 4)
-- 620 Drakonia (18° Ari 43' 39" SRx | House 4)
-- 8120 Kobe (18° Ari 47' 30" | House 4)
-- 2365 Interkosmos (17° Sag 4' 4" | House 1) - This one's fitting.
-- 313 Chaldaea (17° Sag 39' 14" | House 1)
- Sextile
-- 1260 Walhalla (16° Gem 3' 50" | House 7)
-- 5239 Reiki (15° Lib 53' 18" | House 10) - He did play a character with almost zen-like qualities as Spock.
-- 13852 Ford (15° Lib 58' 30" | House 10) - Didn't he have an old pic in his 60's Starfleet uniform in front of an old Ford? Or was that a Chevy?
-- Venus (16° Lib 14' 8" | House 10)
-- 24626 Astrowizard (16° Lib 56' 1" | House 10) - You could say he was.
-- 1193 Africa (17° Lib 33' 47" | House 10) - Trivia: The first interracial kiss on TV was scripted to be Spock and Uhura (until Shatner got wind of it). The newer Star Trek movies seem to be moving on this.
-- 19019 Sunflower (18° Lib 2' 27" | House 10)
- Semisextile
-- 2309 Mr. Spock (17° Can 46' 1" | House 8) - this is highly amusing
-- 140602 Berlind (18° Can 25' 50" | House 8) - I remember the Nazi Planet episode
-- 17627 Humptydumpty (18° Can 40' 53" | House 8)
-- 389 Industria (16° Vir 17' 58" | House 9)
-- 1980 Tezcatlipoca (16° Vir 58' 30" | House 9)
-- 12238 Actor (18° Vir 5' 13" | House 9) - He most certainly was, and did voice acting too. I remember him well as the voice of Galvatron in the first animated Transformers movie.
-- 3063 Makhaon (18° Vir 30' 5" | House 9)
-- 1021 Flammario (18° Vir 45' 10" | House 9)

It would be interesting to see where he falls in others' charts. I have no idea what he would really mean in a natal chart at this point or in transit... In any case, the additional notes are my perceptions on the man and legend.

Perhaps what will be largely revealed is mainly our perceptions of him, so like a Name Asteroid kind of deal.

It's not often we get to start from scratch with discovery behind a newly-named asteroid though, so this is a bit exciting.
