These two were soulmates-

The story of Hylonome and Cyllarus is indeed touching. The two were inseparable. Ovid states “Their love was equal; on the hills they roamed together, and together they would go back to their cave”. So then when her soulmate died what else could Hylonome do but join him in the afterlife. Its safe to say that Cyllarus would have followed suit such was their devotion to each other. “Hylonome embraced him as he died, caressed the wound and, putting lips to lips, she tried to stay his spirit as it fled.”

Is this between lovers/partners fateful/tragic/heartbreaking??

I have it ( Natal) in exact opp. Cancer 2nd + Capricorn in the 8th --In synastry wide Trine.
I am willing to do anything for my love, but die, not so much but sacrifice some aspects of myself , Yes. Since my Venus is opp. Pluto now( that's a learning exp. in it's self) ....and Pluto is nearly conj. my Cyllarus ....wonder how this will manifest??? Since in Cap. I think its my attitude that I don't want anything materialistic anymore...

a post about these asteroids came in today:

"This asteroid represents Impulsively giving into grief. Where we are prone to panic when love threatens to flee. Going from the ideal to total loss. Where we are so attached to something or someone that we lose all reason. Hylonome impulsively committed suicide. She took no consideration for her future, paid no attention to the fact that life could indeed go on for her, even without what she loved most. Hylonome was in love but she was also short sighted. This asteroid has a very black and white nature to it. I equate this asteroid with both irrational devotion and with the fear of feeling and/or of dealing with deep grief or loss. How we deal with the prospect of being alone is also a big part of Hylonome.
Cyllarus is associated with going to bat for your side, often without thinking it through. Where we impulsively lay it on the line or take a risk. Cyllarus can point to where we defend someone or something without thinking it through first.
When there is an aspect between these two in synastry, we see the themes love and loss, attachment and desperate devotion play out between a couple.
Hylonome in synastry shows devotion that is often over the top or truly complete. The urge to give it all for another's attention. Willing to die or give something dear to us up for the other so they can find their rightful place in the world.
Cyllarus in synastry points to where we may be either too quick to act or react, or measured in our actions, depending on how aspected." -
