Nessus in the 7th house.I'm starting to think this placement may be awful. Of all the places to encounter Nessus, the 7th house seems to be an unfortunate one. If Nessus carries an abusive energy, then I assume that a person with this placement will encounter abusive energy when interacting with other human beings in a personal one-on-one way. it's like this placement means that you will encounter abuse within relationships. And that you cannot experience relationships without Nessus appearing. So what does one do? Is it better for a person with this placement to remain single and without significant relationships? If relationships inevitably will bring them Nessus... Curious if anyone has any thoughts? IP: Logged |

Absolutely not. Relax. It is completely unrealistic in my opinion to believe that house location only will determine a curse of 'always abusive relationships'. Nessus is in my 5th house, and I have never experienced any abuse what so ever in 5th house matters, nor have I delivered it. IP: Logged |

I only count Nessus when it is conj or in very close aspect to something important in the chart like the Moon, ASC etc. If you counted every asteroid in every house, a chart would take you years lol------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology? thanks nomad and ami. I didn't mean to say that this means that someone would be cursed, that is not what I mean at all. But if you believe that astrology describes the experience you will have in a lifetime and that the birth chart is a map of the energies you experience while in this given human body, you cannot eacape it. To me that isn't the same thing as a curse, unless you view your birth chart as a curse. to me, the placement of the planets describes how you will experience each area of life, which means that whatever is in the seventh house, good or bad, you will experience in relationships. This is because you reject those qualities in yourself and cast them out on to the "other". I know an asteroid is small and seemingly insignificant compared to planets but I think once it has been discovered it becomes a part of human consciousness, no? And it plays its roll, whether small or large. IP: Logged |

You've undoubtedly had some great responses but I am guily to have not patiently read just yet. Will do soon though!I've read there's a positive to even the bodies we deem as malevolent energies. There must be a strong positive side for you. From an official site (atm no link to offer) I read "generous, benevolent, compassionate, willing to lend a helping hand, cooperative, respectful of boundaries, aware of the power of life force energy" - ☆ http://www.philipsedgwick.com/Centaur_TNO/KuiperKeywords.htm ☆ , in the case you've not already discovered it.

Thank you MoonMystic. I have never seen that website before, but I am checking it out now. It's interesting that they put "respectful of boundaries" as a positive Nessus trait - my impression was that the energy of Nessus was the opposite of that.... I thought it was defined by the lack of respect for another person's boundaries. Maybe I just don't understand Nessus well at all!! Anyway, thanks for putting a positive spin on the topic IP: Logged |

Nessus seem to be about soul-strengthening (to me). You can take a look in the NESSUS-thread for my motivation. Beware of the excessive fear-mongering going on. It is rarely correct, but a case of SUPPOSED IDENTIFICATION attracting CONFIRMATION. IP: Logged |

You're very welcome LuckyLeo. I'm someone who is relieved when something positive can be found. A lot of mythology and general meanings can get heavy energetically. IP: Logged |

Indeed! It gets exhausting with the weight. I already explained in the Nessus thread; in my own synastry chart we have Nessus and Dejanira contacts so it appears on the chart to be an abusive relationship. The reality is we respect each other's wishes and boundaries. Neither one of us feels like a "victim" or "perpetrator." Sorry if you weren't looking for a personal example, I just thought it might help ease some of the anxiety around Nessus! IP: Logged |

One good thing about Nessus is that Nessus people are strong. They don't let people push them around. In synastry, if you are the Nessus, people will be afraid of you and reluctant to push you around, so this is good. ------------------ Want to Read Simple, Fun,Sexy Articles on Astrology?
