When counting out quintiles to something recently I miscalculated and landed on asteroid Tempel. Then I realized I had it wrong by one degree and moved on... but Tempel stuck in my mind. It's named after some German astronomer, but my mind immediately conjures images of ancient temples or other exotic buildings of worship. Now, I'm not religious per se... at least not in any organized religion sense of the word... but I would say I'm spiritual. And so I thought to check whether the aspects to Tempel would seem to say anything significant about what I worship or hold sacred. Lo and behold I did indeed find some interesting stuff, that all rings very true! Tempel 3°53'39" Aries Conjunct: - Rudra 3°50'34" (Rigvedic deity associated with violent storms.) - Melete 3°55'18" (Muse of thought and meditation.) Opposite: - Etna 3°35'47" Libra (A volcano.) - Carnac 3°41'54" Libra (Named after some place in France, but my inner egyptologist immediately thinks of the Karnak temples in Thebes.) - Everest 4°03'53" Libra (World's tallest mountain.) - Arctica 4°11'08" Libra Trine: - Samadhi 3°40'51" Sagittarius (State of meditative concentration. Also biquintile Mars.) - Allegra 3°33'23" Leo (Quick, lively, cheerful, upbeat. Also quintile Venus.) - Adonis 3°33'24" Leo (I wondered what Adonis had to do with anything, until I realized that he is very closely associated with the changing of seasons, and also with Midsummer. Also quintile Venus.) Sextile: - Ilmari 3°55'14" Aquarius (Blacksmith god of creativity and invention from Finnish mythology. Also biquintile Moon.) - Morpheus 3°58'00" Aquarius (Greek god of sleep and dreams. Also biquintile Moon.) - Elektra 3°29'32" Gemini - Mauna Kea 3°52'33" Gemini (An inactive volcano... and if measured from the sea floor it's the tallest mountain in the world.) - Hela 4°16'07" Gemini (Norse ruler of realm of the dead.) ...and that makes a complete grand sextile, so I'll stop there. Because geometry has always had a touch of sacredness for me. That neatly describes much of my spirituality! I've often found sacredness in the following... The natural cycles of nature. The beauty of nature, as well as the extremes of nature and weather. Creation and destruction, fecundity and decay, cycles of life/death/rebirth. Mindfulness, states of stillness and contemplation. Dreams. And Egypt has always been the ancient culture that I find most interesting... from a cultural, historical as well as a spiritual perspective. What does Tempel do in your charts? Do you notice any meaningful patterns? IP: Logged |

Pretty cool that it conjuncts my mercury in the 12H. My mind has always been my temple, my go to to "escape" the harsh realities of this world. I could be sitting in a packed room and meditate myself away from it all. I could think myself right into a zen like state. IP: Logged |

For me I think Tempel represents Gods holy temple. I have Temple at 22 Gemini conjunct Juno, Galatea, and Mercury in the ninth house. IP: Logged |

Not exactly, it's more of an energy shift kind of thing. I only let myself completely zone out if I'm alone. Others can pick up on me tapping my energy out of the group but I'm still engaging. IP: Logged |

Mirage, that is such a pretty pattern that Tempel is involved in in your chart! Spirit and Armisticia look so lovely connected to Tempel. Definitely big impact stuff too, Mercury, Neptune and the Nodal axis, oh my! It certainly looks like your spirituality is part of your life path! Tempel doesn't make any strong connections to planets or points in my chart, and that actually makes a lot of sense because my spirituality is definitely periferal in my life...MoonMystic, that's all so interesting! I love that you have dug up all those temples! I need to have a look at what those energies do in my chart. I do know that I have Dodona (oracle and temple of Zeus) tightly conjunct Mercury, but that's the only temple energy that I remember being prominent in my chart. IP: Logged |

I checked some of the other temple related asteroids in my chart, and there are some patterns and interesting connections. Templehe 22°38' Capricorn 4th house - Trine Venus at 21°52' Taurus - Opposite Black Moon Lilith at 21°37' Cancer - Square Jupiter at 21°29' Aries - Quintile Tempel Tarxien 22°59' Sagittarius 3rd house - Inconjunct Venus - Semi-sextile Templehe - Declination: 22°28'S, contraparallel Sun at 22°24'N Karnik 22°22' Pisces 6th house - Trine BML - Square Chiron at 21°22' Gemini - Sextile Venus - Sextile Templehe - Square Tarxien (Also discovered that Black Moon Lilith is quintile Carnac. Which makes for a very interesting hourglass-shaped formation... Templehe opposite Lilith and Tempel opposite Carnac with the oppositions bound together by quintiles. Not a pattern I've seen before.) There is an interesting synergy between Templehe, Karnik and Tarxien at 22°... and loosely they connect with my Jupiter/Venus/Chiron/Lilith 21° theme, which feels significant too. The other temples I checked don't make as pretty patterns. But here are some notes anyway.
Dodona 6°48' Cancer 9th house - Conjunct Mercury at 6°52' Cancer - Opposite Neptune at 7°15' Capricorn - Trine Pluto at 7°39' Scorpio - Declination 26°38'N parallel BML at 26°11'N Delphi 13°08' Taurus 8th house - Semi-sextile Sun at 13°22' Gemini - Bi-quintile Ascendant at 6°46' Libra - Declination: 16°34'N, parallel Venus at 16°58'N Abusimbel 1°00' Aries 6th house - Quintile Sun - Bi-quintile Pluto (Making a quintile yod, since Sun and Pluto are also bi-quintile each other.) Angkorwat 3°08' Taurus 7th house - Inconjunct Carnac - Semi-sextile Tempel - Conjunct Marai at 2°20' Taurus
