I like a coffee now and then- freshly roasted, ground espresso. ------------------ “It’s an interesting thing. Seeing Kuan Yin relating to a flower so intently. She's not just looking at it; she's interacting with it…I’m seeing how the act of relating to a flower appears to be so simple. Yet, it takes a tremendous amount of courage to make such a “simple” act important. Now, the lotus is floating away.” IP: Logged |

Not a fan of coffee. Yuck. Just don't like the flavor. ------------------ "Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia." Charles Schultz IP: Logged |

Coffee is great to cook with, though. It makes anything with chocolate taste more chocolatey.------------------ "No pain, no palm; no thorns, no throne; no gall, no glory; no cross, no crown." William Penn IP: Logged |

Kinda reminds me of how people pour liquor and wine to cook, looks gross, but end result is tasty. IP: Logged |

Yeah, wine is so gross. But the alcohol cooks out, and what's left is flavor. The coffee taste is masked by the chocolate, and the chocoloate becomes amplified.------------------ "Cooking is like love. It should be entered into with abandon or not at all." Harriet Van Horne IP: Logged |

I wish I was like you Randall, not to like wine or coffee, but I do love them both. I'm constantly trying to beat my love for caffeine and wine in my quest to be on the path to immortality. At least I'm not hooked on any other drugs.IP: Logged |

What does abstaining from coffee or caffeine have to do with achieving PI or not? I must've missed that one. IP: Logged |

Right Randall!Starr33, yes good question, but it is just my own personal belief that the body is better without it. My higher-self is constantly telling me to quit the caffeine, very irritating as I love coffee. IP: Logged |

apparently the health benefits, or MOST of them, are equal with decaffeinated coffee. i just like my food interfered with as little as possible so i drink the real thing. many VERY old people still drink coffee daily. from all studies done, and you have to remember controls are difficult in long-term real-life type studies, it protects against diabetes 2, liver cancer, heart rhythm probs, alzheimers, and even parkinsons, although in parkinsons apparently the CAFFEINE is part of the reason it protects. i wouldn't recommend 8 cups a day, but there is no evidence that moderate coffee drinking is anything but GOOD for your body. let you know in a hundred years, randall. If I go to Dunkin D's before I go to the gym, I usually burn off 300-500 calories. I'm just starting to take mine black with sugar. IP: Logged |

I was thinking about posting a topic about coffe and 5 hour energy. But this topic will do just fine. I'm a coffe addict. Since I am not a morning person. In my elementry days my mom use to give me a tiny cup of coffe. Well nowa days I need two cups of coffe to feel/be awake. I feel like coffe doesn't make me hyper anymore just awake...and in order to feel hyper I need like 4-6 cups, and that can't be good for me. Awake is borring. Hyper is awesome. LOL So today when I go grocery shopping I plan on trying 5 hour energy for the first time. IP: Logged |

Oh, man. I tried 5 hour energy only once and that was enough! I felt terrible about my place in the world and it bordered on suicidal thoughts, not to mention the physical effects ( sweating and dizziness). But that was just me. IP: Logged |

Yikes starr33!! I'm sorry about that.I had some 5 hour today. I had the orange flavor. It tastes like crap...but then its not bad for being an energy drink. (I think all energy drinks taste like crap though) It's working out pretty good for me, I'm feeling the way I like to feel. And its such a small amount... so I wont mess with your stomach, if ya know wha-I'm-sayinn! I feel like I'm moving faster than I usually do with coffee. I still feel a bit rutty when I have coffee. I wonder if it's because I've built up a tolerance to it...like my dad has a high tolerance to beer. Less than 2 definitely ain't gonna get us in that zone. But I live in Michigan. The snow is bad here...So a cup of coffee does sound comforting and warm right now...I think its been more than 5 hours anyway. But yes I would definitely like to alternate between coffee and 5 hour...(maybe having a break from coffee once in a while will lower down my tolerance) IP: Logged |
