hey knowflakes

i am so confused about the indian food (south indian specifically), all the stuff we eat mixes all kinds of color.

lets take tomato rasam

tomato - red color
red gram dhall - red yellow
turmeric - yellow
rasam or sambar powder - red
salt - white
tamarind water - black !

now what?
is it a yes on no?

Any one out here who has done this in india and has knowledge about "how to follow the diet with our food" - pls help !!... i am eager to start my diet ... but not before i research it fully

ooooh sVirgo... looks like u were here when u started the diet

Help pls

lost little knowflake

Hey all knowflakes

since the topic is in India ...

i am gonna tel what i know and where i organised my stuff from

U get beautiful ruby red glasses in two places ... lifestyle and landmark , try these places if they are there in your city

The red watt bulb i can help only in blore and chennai

in blore - try chickpet

in chennai - parry's corner

i found only 60 watts in red and orange (brand name is protima for the red and nelson for the orange)

the 75-100 watts is still not in my reach .. I am still looking and will post it if I find it

I am gonna start my diet in another few days with the 60 watts red bulb

100 watt is easily available in the regular bulb color . u can tie the red cellophane paper to the desk lamp or even paint the bulb red.
be cautious while doing either one.
( i would apply the logic of painting, it is safer, because cellophane might catch fire, plus if u consider the ruby red glass logic... the red ruby glasses make the water solarized in red color, so i am sure light passing though red painted bulb would be equally acceptable)

Btw, if u find 60 watts bulb (easier to find)
Start ur diet with it … don’t be anxious if it will work or not

K-Now it will work and relax your thoughts.

I am still trying to figure what I can eat and what I cant because south Indian food is different ball game all together

Any one with more inputs and ideas … pls go right ahead and share..

Niveditha

Hi Niveditha,

I am glad that you are on a right track and you are doing everything right.

Yes, first time when I tried red color diet, I was in India. I did it in summer days when water melon is easily available. My diet consists of water melon and red beans. I was not having rasam, because we add turmeric which is yellow in color.

I especially bought all red and white clothes. Even my bed sheet, and towel were all red color.

For bulb, I did the same way, I think I used that glossy paper first and that got itself stuck to my red buld when it burnt, and then my bulb became ruby red.

I liked the point, you mentioned that "the red ruby glasses make the water solarized in red color, so I am sure light passing..."

Good Luck with your red color diet.

Though I don't need to reduce, but may be I can also start just to balance myself. Let me see, if I will start with you, I will update here.

Good Luck with your color diet.

Keep reading Lindagoodman color diet pages that will keep reminding you of your goals.

Thank you!

Hi sVirgo

Sorry if I am being too personal or intruding

But were you in South India?

What are the other foods that you could consume? (As in from the variety of sambar, rasam, kootu and the likes)

Can I have the following?

Dosai (boile drice and Black Gram) both are white in colour even though the name black gram is actually white when we buy it as it dehusked)

Adai (Boiled rice, Red gram, Black gram Dhal and red chilli)

Idli (boiled rice and black gram)

When Linda Goodman says all cereal made of wheat and oats are allowed, does it include wheat bread and Chapatti (wheat flour and water)?

I have another doubt with regards to seasoning …. take beet root vegetable for instance. I let it boil in water , sprinkle some coconut and season it with mustard (black color) red chilli and Black gram dhal. So is the mustard allowed or is it better if I skip it?

Ok, I think I am getting obsessed here … read anxiety, which is a no no according to Linda

I am starting on 12th of March as I am travelling a bit before that and cant do the colour bath

It will be so cool, two people in different parts of the world who don’t know each other synchronizing their colour diet program.

I also re-read that the “purple plates in India” topic and saw your post on the same. Thanks for the guidance on the purple plates, I was about to apply my colour logic and paint my ever silver plate purple – LOL!

Well, if it is not too much of bother and you find time, please clarify my doubts

Thanks
Niveditha

Hi Indycrab

Yes the pearlpet wrapped in red cellophane will work

But if you read my post in the same topic, you will see i have given the location where i brought the glasses.

i brought two beautiful red ruby glasses from landmark at forum.

I walked to the cutlery section found them in a minute.

So, you still have time till 10th of March to buy it

Btw, what is the watt of your bulb?
I mananged to find only 60 watt red.
If yours is above 75 watt, please give me the coordinate where you brought it

I would very much appreciate that.

It is indeed very nice to know that we are in the same town ... very cool !

good luck .. sending some red light your way for the diet

sVirgo, where are ya??

Drop in and say Hi!

Hi Nive,

Yes, i did get to read about the red glasses in your post, i'll be travelling till 10th so i doubt if i can get them, will definitely shift from pearlpet-red cellophane to red glasses during the period.

I got a 100W bulb, one of my uncles helped me get that, so do not know where exactly he got it from, will check with him and let you know.

Can anyone please solve this confusion - can we continue with the red light bath during 'those 5 days of the month'??? is it safe??? PLease lemme know about it.

Love ya,
IndyCrab.

Hi Indycrab

Yes, it is safe.

3 reasons

1) There is no mention it being unsafe (i am sure Linda would have mentioned this)

2) She mentions that if you miss the color bath one day, then you will have to count the next day as day 1, which means there can be no break in-between

3) Go to this link
http://www.star-notes.com/

Here u will find clarifications on the color diet. Go to the March, 1989 note (page 6). It does not mention anything about the "red days". One important aspect that is revealed in this note is that you should not weigh yourself; this got missed out in the star sign.

Do let me when you find out from your uncle

Thanks
Niveditha

Thanks Nive,

The article is very informative, i did think of something like this about the 'weighing' when i read about 'try a pair of jeans' concept, good somewhere my thoughts went in synch with the actual reason

Will definitely let you know about the 100W bulb, one thing - the bulb i have is not an opaque one, it is a transparent bulb, will this do???

Love,
IndyCrab

Hi,

I am here, now let us get ready for 10th March.

I think, don't make any dish which has black in color. Yellow is okay, so turmeric is good.
You can add more tomatoes instead of tamarind.
Lentils are all good with turmeric.

tomato rasam is offcourse very good.

Insted of sugar, you can add honey in tea.

Idli and white boiled rice, both are good for red color diet.

Yes, you can add wheat bread and chapatti.

No mustard seeds, because they turn out black.

I foget black gram dal color, if it is white, then it is fine.

Thank you!

I did it during those five days too to keep continuity, so we are starting on 10th March.

IndyCrab, you can make lamp opaque, by adding that red paper in front of lamp.

Let us keep updating what we are taking in our diet and about the timings too, to motivate each other.

Thank you!

thakali thoku recipe

chop 3-4 tomato to small squares (fine diced)

add some oil to pan and when the oil is hot, put the diced tomato in and let it boil, till it becomes like chutney or paste

add salt
turmeric (1/4 tsp)
red chilli powder 2tsp

tada, its ready ... it goes well with chapati

u can saute it with mustard and cumin powder (only after we finsih the diet because black and brown is not allowed)
