I've recently been thinking about how much change is happening in the world, physically and ideologically. How these societal and cultural changes are impacting human ideas, ways of life and how they relate specifically to evolution. Specifically, the ways in which human love has evolved and changed. Love towards fellow sapiens, other living beings and organisms, growing love for the well being of the environment and the future of this planet.

The human race in a sense is becoming more tolerant and more expansive. Even concepts surrounding human love are changing and have been changing for a while now. For a long time I used to divide love into a variety of different categories (which might have been a simple result of cultural and societal conditioning), familial love, romantic love, universal love etc., assuming all these various forms of love where mutually exclusive. But as I've grown I've begun to understand that they aren't. In understanding my evolving views it would seem as though they might all just be the exact same concept. Just expressed in different ways. I mean the love I share for my friends and family isn't really that different from the way I feel about my significant other or the well being of humanity and this planet.

As we move forward into this new age, it makes me wonder how much further concepts surrounding human love will evolve and change. In what directions? Especially as we hopefully become more tolerant and open. Will we outgrow practices such as marriage or ceremonial unions? Will our tolerance expand to such a state that living in shared communal communities will become the norm. Will our priorities change, will we place our dedication toward expressing love for one another through more unified humanitarian efforts as opposed to just expressing our love to our own families and friends.

Have you noticed in your own life examples of how human love has evolved? We talk about the Age of Aquarius, the growth in universal consciousness and the probability that the human race is becoming more tolerant but on a individual level what are your observations?

To answer my own question, examples of how I personally have noticed the evolving dynamics surrounding human love range from the magnificent burst of states within the US legalizing same sex marriage (Rhode Island, Delaware and Minnesota to name a few). An example of how an entire region is becoming at least statistically more tolerant. Another example is sorting out the estrangement I've had with my father for many years. I finally learned how to accept him for being the person he is (and stopped blaming him for who he used to be) as easy as that might sound it took a lot time for me to come to a place of acceptance. There was a great deal of resentment, I think for both of us. We're friends now, and I don't have any expectations I just want to be there for him and support him when he needs it. I honestly didn't ever think we'd get to this place in our relationship but within the last two years, everything changed. It was like a veil was lifted. We managed to find a way in which to love one another that worked for us both.

I'd really enjoy hearing more examples of how others have evolved and noticed a change in their views or expressions of human love. If you'd care to share. It might just be the Aquarius Rising in me but I'm trying to connect theory with facts. This is a developing thread, and I plan to add some interesting articles and more info to it.

With the Supreme Court on board, SSM is set to move forward in leaps and bounds.

Human love is based on human understanding. We cannot love what we do not understand. When our understanding expands, our fear disappears, and love grows. I think this is what is happening to humanity in general.

This is why understanding yourself individually is the key to loving yourself, which is the basis for understanding and loving others.

A very wise friend of mine recently told me, "we destroy that which we do not understand." Understanding is the key to survival and to perpetuating love. Yes, I have seen much more loving action in this world based on desire to understand.
