Yeah, but they will now. This entire tempest in a teapot was brilliant for them and ultimately very profitable so I can't help but wonder if it was planned or if they just blundered into this. Either is believable to me. IP: Logged |

I think people should have the right to express their religious views. You can hate the sin, but love the sinner. As for his mouthpiece on blacks, it wasn't racist, but foolish and naive. He never said he hated or had anything against blacks. It could be his town was nicer to blacks during the 50s and 60s than other towns. I heard an old black man say that on a blog. By the way, I'm gay. IP: Logged |

When i replied to this elsewhere on the forum (don't know where that thread (or my reply) has gone now, that was my point. There will always be people speaking out like this. Especially 'high profile' "reality stars" (it helps ratings) wink wink If i were gay or black i wouldnt give a damn either. Not saying those people shouldnt feel any which way, everyone is entitled to their own feeliings. But I think this was "planned". Don't get sucked in. These people will be around, speaking their minds as long as humanity is. I'm surprised about the so-called uproar about it. No one else is yawning along with me at this point? I guess that's the disturbing part to me. IP: Logged |

Me too. Robertson said or quoted what strict Bible believers say and believe. Suprise? Not. I am saddened always by this and even more so to see such lines drawn and pulpits pounded when bottom line ratings and $$ are the ONLY thing at stake. Certainly NOT freedon of speech as other fundies are being extremist about. You have lost your audience when you fight extremism with extremism . Yes T, the board is peppered with this issue as to promote more extremism and here we are indulging ------------------ Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged. True. Stereotyped bigoted rednecks vs stereotyped gay men. Sadly both types do exist.

Lexx, indeed. The controversy seems to have blown over and the Fourth Amendment remains intact and all voices were heard. ------------------ Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged. ^^I've thought the show was fake from the first ep of it I saw. And I have seen those pix before elsewhere with some commentary on it. Like most to all reality shows it's scripted and fake. Which is one reason I find it so easy to believe this entire tempest in a teapot was cynically devised for more publicity and thus ability to sell more advertisement space (or possibly by the individual to sell books). It's just window dressing. IP: Logged |
