hello devilfish,
You have quite an intense chart with the Sun, Moon (1) and Saturn (7) involved in a tight T-Square.
This shows that there is nobody harder on you than you are on yourself. Very somber placements, good news is you have a Sag Ascendant which will prevent you from always looking at the glass as half empty instead of full. My personal beliefs are that with Sag Asc. or Suns you need a strong Saturn placement or configuration to keep them grounded. This is perfect.

Sun square or opposition Saturn (Charles Carter)

If the harmonious aspects between Sun and Saturn sometimes seem to bring painful conditions, it may also be said that neither are the inharmonious always entirely evil, although they certainly have a bad name and are sometimes spoken of as if they denied the native almost everything desirable.

The opposition seems not altogether bad, probably because the two bodies rule opposite signs and therefore there is some kinship between the opposition aspect and this mutual relation. It is not incompatible with considerable worldly success, if other aspects favour, though such success will be won only by sheer hard work and may be reatined with difficulty. Often the early life is very hard and the father is of no use to the native; real sympathy between them is rare. He may be hard or unsuccessful or a reprobate. I have the case of a man with Sun square Saturn who as a child was obliged to fetch his father from the public-house regularly - he grew up a person of staunch moral character, worked extremely hard all his life, and, after severe checks, accumulated a moderate fortune. Here the native's life was embittered because, though fairly successful, he did not attain his ambitions, which were considerable. In other cases known to me the Sun-Saturn native has achieved a great deal in terms of social status, but not in actual tangible cash. Again the inhibition is sometimes largely physical.

We may distinguish three types: the ambitious but incompetent man who 'fails'; the man who is not ambitious or interested in material affairs, but has to spend his life with them; and the competent and ambitious man who is confronted with obstacles and ill-luck. Often it sems as if this third class does not suffer much discontent from the fact that he has to work hard for comparatively little emolument; in a word, he accepts the Saturnine destiny philosophically and becomes a willing, if not a cheerful, captive of the planet's rgime, finding a source of satisfaction in the fact that he earns every penny he gets, and sometimes a good deal more. but this will depend upon the general tenor of the birth chart, and especailly upon the nature of the ascendant.

The difficulty is always, at heart, one of self-expression. Either proper expression is denied or delayed until it is almost too late to serve its purpose, or else the native tries 'to force the issue' and blunders disastrously. Sometimes the issue is shirked and there is shyness or timidity, which may be hidden behind blatant boastfulness.

Children being part of our means of self-expression, this contact is evil for them, especially for the eldest, if a male. It may deny boys when these are badly wanted; or one of them (usually the eldest) may die, be sickly, or suffer in his fortunes. If there are no boys then it sometimes affects the native's eldest daughter.

In women's charts, the husband sometimes exemplifies the affliction by being weak and unfortunate, and there is often much difference of age and social status. The Sun afflicted by Saturn is extremely likely, in a female chart, to deny offspriing altogether and even to indicate a single condition.

With respect to health, the afflictions cause debility, catarrhal conditions, colds, tubercular tendecies, and maladies of the bones. In regard to accidents, it is well known that Saturn inclines to falls, especially if its action falls near the middle of the cardinal signs, the central point of this influence being about the 17th degrees. But by reason of its prudent character the planet is less likely to cause accidents than either Mars or Uranus, and as a rule in these cases one or both of the latter intermingle their rays. Similarly in cases of severe dental trouble.

Moon opposite Saturn

Moon square or opposition Saturn (Karen Hamaker-Zondag)

Tense aspects draw attention more strongly to vulnerable aspects of a personality. When people have the hard aspects, each time they look for comfort and safety (Moon), they are inevitably confronted with their weaknesses, fears, and uncertainties (Saturn). Emotional inhibitions and difficulties with emotional expression are quite common under these aspects. These people struggle with a sense of loneliness and often with an inferiority complex as well.

Anxiety and possibly mistrust will affect behavior. They take a rather gloomy view of everything, preferring to expect the worst because then the unexpected will always be an improvement; and, in fact, are particularly prone to do so where the emotional world (Moon) and the need for security are concerned.

For women, these are difficult aspects. Their femininity is not easy for them to handle. Even though many can create the impression of being superwomen, they lack inner composure. Another mode of expression is very mannish behavior. Saturn's hard aspects can lead to extremes.

Self-control is considerable with these aspects, also the capacity for hard work, self-discipline and level-headedness. People with conflicts between the Moon and Saturn can be very creative in fashioning things. Their inferiority feelings, and their fears that what they make will never be perfect, are likely to haunt them to some extent; but they can produce first-class work once they set their minds to it. Although these are active aspects (which the tense aspects always are), Saturn can be so inhibitive that either the natives' activities are paralysed at the very beginning or they avoid spreading their interests. Given their sensitivity, they cannot afford to risk making too many mistakes. Shyness is common in these aspects, while the persistent search for some ideal form in which to express themselves makes them initially impractical and inefficient: owing to uncertainty they try their hand at all sorts of things when they are young, being unable to settle down anywhere. Dread of the unknown can keep them static and clinging to pet ideas; therefore they strike others as hard and unbending.

However, once these people have made the effort to break out of their hard shells they will be all the tougher for the experience, well equipped to patiently withstand the adversities life may bring, and they will work successfully under the most trying circumstances. For durability and staying power are Saturn's good side, which falls within their reach once we have come to terms with it.

So sorry devilfish, these interpretations are for aspects alone, they don't take into consideration the WHOLE chart. When something happens to the child like what is being suggested above that really does fall more into a Moon/Uranus aspect and even then it has to be in the right house with hard aspects contributing, more to the point with the Sun/Saturn aspect is the strictness you show toward yourself thus projecting this onto our children. (unintentionally) Especially the first. Capricorn (Saturns ruler)is hard always on the young, they're born "old souls" this holds true especially for Capricorn Ascendant, but they're life gets considerably easier as they become adults. With you, you have that forever optimistic Sag rising Your ruler is Jupiter which is conjunct a 3rd house Mercury (you're pretty smart). This is equal amounts of optimisim to combat the negative effects of a stressed Saturn. We all have something honey, if our charts were nothing but easy and compatible aspects be'd be bored stiff.
With hard aspects from Saturn you deal with heavy responsibilities. You were born into this, but Saturn won't quit untill it overcomes all tests/lessons and will keep trying untill they get it right.

The Sun/Moon square shows that your parents were not on the same page emotionally when you were born, a lot of friction. We can't help what we're born into but we can overcome our setbacks and rise to whatever heights we set for ourselves with goals.

hi devilfish,
one thing is for sure and that is our children are SOOO karmically connected to us that you can bank on it. Is your daughters Sun toward the end of Virgo? Your theroy is quite plausable. Being a Pisces you intuitively know this stuff.

I'm reading your chart as posted here, but really I prefer looking at a chart wheel, why not leave your stats so that I can have a copy to refer to

You have Mercury 29 Aquarius an aneretic degree (fated) in the 3rd house ( a great placement)

This is an excellent position for a writer or communicator of any kind: filmmaker, photographer, graphic artist, secretary, lecturer, teacher. The mind is open and flexible, and keeps a youthful and eager approach to life, or at least to those areas of life on which it has decided to concentrate. There is a great interest in animals, children, and nature. There is an ability to move easily from one idea or field to another. With Mercury in Fire or Air, they are inclined to move too rapidly or easily, picking up nothing as they go, remembering little, and leaving no trace of having been there.

They usually have great stories about people they have known and places they have been. There is a great incoming stream of information about the world; but without aspects of crystallization these will form no philosophy or concepts, and will be put to no other use than amusing conversation with whoever is around. There is a great feel for the true sound and tempo of everyday life, that is good for playwrights, novelists, comedians, etc.. It makes a person capable of being a very witty and entertaining companion. They usually have a wide circle of amusing acquaintances, although deep friendships must be shown by other factors.

They will gladly take the other side of the argument for the sheer pleasure of it and to keep up the ecvitement of a conversation, though they actually feel committed to no one position, which can be aggravating to those around them, who may feel that there is simply nothing there. They are better at providing a forum forothers, recording others, helping others to bring forth their ideas, than they are at presenting their own, for often they have no real viewpoint, since they see so clearly all sides of a question.

They are resentful of pigeonholes and labels, love freedom, and hate to be tied down, especially mentally (by a boring job or relationship). They will struggle until they find a spot where they can use their mentality as they please.
