I am trying to understand how one interprets the parents in ones chart to see if it is accurate.

The Sun symbolizes the father and Moon the mother.If the sun is sagittaruis, 9th house, how would one describe the relaship with the father? Does one take aspects into account as well?

A better way to rectify a birth chart (make a birth chart more accurate) is to take a look at the transits and progressions to the chart and match up life events to those transits and progressions. This is a VERY complex process and only extrememely knowledgeable astrologers can do it well...and even sometimes they make mistakes and create a time that is later shown to be incorrect.

Does the moon and sun in ones natal chart also show ones perception of the parents? Eg: moon gem - the mother is perceived as someone with gemini qualities.
I thought the sun and moon would also show the relationship with the parents.

There are many astrologers who use the Sun and Moon in the birth chart to indicate the relationship the person has with their parents. However, I have not found this to apply to my birth chart or to others birth charts. So I don't look for family situations in a person's birth chart.

my parents are defintely significant in my sun and moon, especially my sun(father).
