Sure, it's about secrets things & things buried within. Sure, we try to hide ourselves from the people we're in a relationship with, when our 12th house is activated. I would say we go to lengths to protect whatever ends up in our 12th house. It's because our 12th house is the quiet humm that we take for granted in our own lives or that talent we had that we didn't really acknowledge. The reason we hide that from someone activating our 12th house is initially we didn't know that hum or talent really existed or mattered. Now, we're immensely confused, shocked and especially vulnerable to the unknown. It reminds me of when we realize there is a hole in the boat and then hustle to get it repaired, even if it's a temporary patch, before we study it later in great depth.
That area within us hasn't been guarded, because it's never been in our line of vision! Now, that it's come to our attention we hustle to hide, protect and insulate it. That is until we gradually learn, it's features and purpose in our life. Then we'd gladly share it like any other part of our lives.
In synastry, I would say something to the that might not sit well with a few: it's a nice thing to have. It leads the wayfor a very binding and spiritual connection. It's probably at another level far beyond that of the Romeo and Juliet stuff. Yes, it's mired by controversy and issues, but *that* is the spice of life. It's a DIY project for a couple to solve and work on. When you're done working on it, that castle, that empire you built together is something you can stand back and blissfully appreciate with a sigh of relief. The bond and admiration for one another becomes so much more stronger.
