What are some aspects or reasons why someone would look completely opposite of typical descriptions of their ASC?

I always read something along the lines of this for mine:

"You tend to be rather short in stature; indeed, very few of you are above average in height. The trunk of the body usually is large; the limbs may be relatively short. Some roundness or plumpness in build is typical. The head and face are "Moonlike," and the profile is somewhat dish-shaped. The chin may be well-rounded and pronounced and have a tendency to be double. The eyebrows seem to be raised questioningly. The teeth, unfortunately, may be somewhat poor in quality or appearance, often because you may tend to wear them down because of "nerves." Typically the hands are plump, the fingers short. The voice tone is often low and the speech rate is normally slow and deliberate." (pulled from http://www.elbertwade.com/page101.html and http://www.elbertwade.com/)

I'm tall, the trunk of my body is small, my limbs are unusually long and there's really only "plumpness" in my rear-end (to be blunt). Thin, long fingers. High pitched voice with very quick speech rate.

I also read things about cancer rising women having...errr...generous chests and I am severely lacking there too xD

What could cause everything to be the exact opposite of most descriptions of an ASC in a natal chart? Does anyone else have this too?

A planet forming aspect to your ascendant could change the typical look. Saturn could give a more structured/bony appearance, Jupiter could influence height, Venus might make you appear more pleasing, Neptune can make the native seem otherworldly or “glamorous”, etc. I also imagine it would depend on what your ascendant’s ruler is. For instance, if you were Cancer Ascendant but your moon was in Gemini, you might have a more gamine appearance than the average Cancer asc.

I have a stellium (Cancer) in my first house (Gemini) so the typical descriptions for my ascendant don’t always fit very well but I definitely have the big expressive Gemini eyes and long limbs. Even with all the Cancer placements (Sun, Venus, Mercury), I don't have big boobs either, but I am oddly curvy in a thin (Gemini)way.

That makes sense.

I checked my chart and I do have a few planets forming aspects to my asc (jupiter, mars, venus) plus my moon in gemini.

Interesting to hear about cancer and gemini mix as far as appearance goes.

Along with the aspects of planets on the asc. If your asc is intercepted for example your at the last degrees of a sign your first house would be comprised of the next sign giving you at tributes of that sign.

What if an asc is 0 degrees in a sign?

Just curious... I saw this in my significant other's chart.

Also check the placement by sign of the ascendent ruler. For instance, if you have Cancer rising, but your moon is in Gemini, the Gemini placement will effect your appearance.

wrong birthtime j/k aspects to planets will modify the traditional traits of the ASC, especially hard aspects

You were writing about ADD. It may be the squares to your ASC esp Mercury. What do you think?

That's possible. I will go through my birth data later today after work and see if others with ADHD have it. I was doing some reading and apparently Moon-Mercury may indicate it. I have the square

Ami - I looked at some charts today of people I know with ADD whose birth data I have. Didn't see any relation between mercury in negative aspect with AC but did potentially see a moon-mercury affliction theme forming.

i don't think a mercury hard aspect would have as much of an effect by squaring my ascendant.

i really think my sun and moon are much more prominent and my ascendant is really just first impressions/mask i wear when i'm not at ease.

my chart has plenty of other afflictions so i'm sure it's in there somewhere. :-/

Edit- I really think it's mars in negative aspect to a Neptune in retrograde. My aspect is very tight
