I noticed that stelliums actually can do that, but I wonder if single planets can as well. Eg. I got taurus sun in 7th house (along with moon and ven) but I got no libra traits at all. But also I hears someone talking about having aries sun in 8th house and actually being similar to scorpio. I know, pretty confusing question, but if someone gets the drift, could You explain it to me?

Yes it definite can.
1/ first you have to see rising sign and also see if it is at start, peak or end and then the dominating planets and houses in the chart
2/ I practice vedic astrology (eastern)

I'm glad you asked. I had a similar question. My moon is in Virgo, but it is in the 5th house, which is also Leo cusp in my chart. I wondered if it made me Leo moon like. Also my sun is at end of house 11, thus house 12 interpretation. I suppose I may have some Aqua traits.

I have been wondering this as well.

IE: My chart ruler is the Sun (Leo Asc) and my Sun Pisces in the 8th house. I also have a lot of Pluto aspects with personal planets (almost all) So, it seems as though I would have a pluto/scorpio personality, correct?

I would like to hear more on this too. Most my placements fall in trine houses, so it doesn't have a big influence on me. But I do have vertex, destinn, isis, POF and Vesta all in 9th house Cancer - which is so confusing!! Especially with a Cap stellium of outer planets and Sun and NN in fourth.

However I wonder about Venus and Mars house placements. Seeing as Venus can represent either a female's affectionate side or a man's ideal mate. Likewise Mars can represent a Man's ambitions or a woman's ideal mate. So I wonder if one's placement/sign is how you express those traits and the the house placement is what you look for, or vice versa. Any idea's anyone??

In Ltownboggies case I think that would definitely cause her to have many Scorpio traits. But if it wasn't for having so many Pluto aspects than I would think the affect would be a little less intense. Though I'm not so sure.

No, having the Sun in your 7th house doesn't give it Libra qualities. A better understanding would be that relationships (7th house matters like business partnerships or committed romantic partnerships) are the area of life where your Solar energy really manifests.

So for another example, let's say that you have Mars in the 9th house. This doesn't make it a Sagittarius Mars. Instead it indicates that you aggressively pursue (Mars keywords) 9th house matters which can include higher education, religion, travel, philosophy or publishing to name a few. Venus in the 6th could represent that your manner of expressing affection is by being of service to others on a daily or routine basis.

You may find people disagreeing with this because often times beginning astrologers feel like it's easier to associate the Sign/Planet/House (Aries/Mars/1st) as though they were one and the same thing, but they most definitely are NOT.

I'm confident that if you have an accurate birth time for yourself, you will see that this is true just by studying your own chart. For those that feel that they are all the same, there is usually something in their chart that accounts for that apart from the house placement; the "Aries Sun in 8th" probably has a tight, hard aspect to Pluto that makes it feel like it has Scorpio qualities.
