Hi SunAscendant! This is a good question that I'm sure many people who are new to Astrology have asked themselves. My answer is: Definitely not! It's not always bad. Mars and Saturn are categorised as malefic in traditional Astrology, but many modern Astrologers no longer use this categorisation. I personally don't find it very helpful - because the fact is each planet has a role to play... each planet has an energy that is its own and that energy can have a positive side as well as a dark side - and there are also many grey areas.
Saturn rules time, longevity, karma, adulthood, career, hard work... Those are just some key words. A personal planet touched by Saturn will be expressed in a very mature, determined and stable way. A Saturnized Venus is a Venus that is very adult and grown-up.. Having this in your chart you're probably clear on what you want on a romantic level and you're in no rush to get it. You believe good things are worth waiting for - and would rather fall in love slowly but surely.
You might have an artistic streak as well. If you have a talent - Saturn will help you put in the necessary work to develop that talent and possibly turn it into a career.
There can be many positive manifestations of Saturn conjunct Venus! Some interpret a conjunction as a hard aspect, but this depends a lot on the rest of the chart. If your conjunction makes easy aspects and is well placed - you'll likely find it easy to tune in to the positive side of Saturn. You might relate more to interpretations for the Venus-Saturn easy aspects: trines and sextiles.
If the conjunction is afflicted in your chart, that could create more difficulties and make things more challenging for you.
