Can someone please tell me what the negative sign in the astro.com aspect chart mean?SEXTILE -1a
Mercury Sagittarius 19.10
Uranus Libra 20.16 CONJUNCT 1a
Moon Scorpio 18.31

Further clarity for beginners:In the aspect chart, a negative sign (-) shows that the two planets have already made an exact (0 degree) aspect and the faster moving planet is already separating from the slower moving planet. The faster moving planet would be the one closer to our Sun. The number itself indicates the degrees of orb between the two aspecting planets. If the number does not have a negative sign then the faster moving planet is applying, or moving toward the slower moving planet and they have not yet made an exact 0 degree aspect. It is written that applying aspects have more strength than separating aspects but I have not studied this specifically.

In reference to the other negative sign (-) : If you click on "additional tables" and look at "positions in the natal chart" under the column "speed" you may see a negative sign (-) which would indicate a "negative" speed or retrograde planet. IP: Logged |
