I am trying to learn Vedic astrology. I know a lot about western astrology, and for the purpose of analyzing personality traits it works fine for me and I am not interested really in analyzing a Vedic birth charts.

I am more interested in Vedic astrology because I've heard that it is a powerful predictive branch of astrology and that is what I want to learn about. Predictive techniques.

But I am so lost! I have been trying to research it online and watch KRSchannel all day, and while I grasp some of the concepts, I'm having trouble finding resources. How do you see your divisional charts? And would that even be a good place to start?? Where do I even begin to learn about all this?

for beginners to start off with, i suggest a book called
LIGHT ON LIFE - WRITTEN BY HART DO FOUW AND ROBERT SVOBODA

its the most famous book on vedic astrology written by two scholars on traditional indian sciences,

dont be in a hurry, give yourself few years of reading and analysing charts and this book and understanding the applications before you will be able to predict with confidence, the main thing in vedic astrology is keeping many things in mind and putting them all together at the time of prediction, its not just mathematical and geometric as western astrology

First and foremost you need to learn how to draw charts. Divisional charts are nothing but just a way to surgically open your houses.

The best place for you to start is know what is the significance of each house. It is same as in western astrology. Like eg. Asc is your character, built, appearance.
2nd house you fixed assets,
3rd Communication and so on...

Then there are 27 Nakshatras. In each Nakshatra or constellation there are 4 padas.

To begin from scratch, you must learn how to draw a vedic chart and know the significance of each.

In divisional charts Navmansa and Dashamsha are most prominent ones.

Navamansa denotes you after married or second half of your life, while Dashamsa chart signifies your career of fathers role in your life. They must be read in the same manner as does the lagna or natal chart.
