in jyotish the D60 divisional chart can be studied to see the previous life, study the chart from the arudha lagna in the D60 chart as the birth chart of previous incarnation, the actions of that incarnation will result in some karma ( good or bad ) represented by the ruler of the amsha of a particular planet in the D60 chart, there are 60 amshas for each sign as each sign is divided into 60 parts of half degree each to prepare the D60 chart

you can prepare D60 chart in the jagannath hora software which you can download for free online, birth time needs to be accurate, birth time can also be corrected using D60 chart depending on life events

the time taken between each incarnation is something which i have not come across in my studies yet, but i am sure it might have been touched upon in some of the ancient classical books like puranas/upanishads- these books really explain the entire working of our existence, just need some peaceful time to read and digest it all

Just want to remind you (if you do), to take things with a grain of 'reasonable' salt. If it gets too intense, put it away. Do not take things literally... pull back if you find yourself too sucked into it. (some of it can be taken in a darker vein-- keep it positive, be Objective.)
