I know LL has a few bloggers
hopefully this is appropriate to talk about here.

I'm frustrated right now.

I started a blog with my sister at the beginning of this month.

And I must say I really enjoyed it. I told my sister that I felt uncomfortable using my whole name. Hello background checks!! This is all through google...I have a youtube account with them now too. And that especially makes me not want to use my full name.

Since when does my activity online have to be known by everybody!? I'm not use to that, and really, I do not want to have to put up with that.

Today I was going to add more to my blog and post it. Blog spot tells me that my account is suspended because that is not your real name. (btw it makes you have a last name too, used a nick name for that as well) I makes me feel like I am being punished for wanting privacy.

When it comes to my beliefs on astrology, and gem healing...I keep a low profile, and only tell people that are close, and I trust.

It's a spiritual belief it's not something that I would like everyone to know about me.
It's not something that you can talk about with everyone.

I don't like people shoving their christian beliefs down my throat. So I try to treat people the way I want to be treated, and only talk about it if they seem open and interested in it.

I could go on about this, but I'm sure you get where I am coming from.

Anyways I don't want to stop blogging over some stupid rules. So I'll either put up with their stupid rules, OR see if there is anything better out there.

Does anyone know of a better place to blog?

my sister just replied back to me and pretty much said "just don't blog then" ugh

I'll figure out what to do about this later, I have a massive wine hangover right now.

Stawr: I have had several blogs and I do not mind what strangers read, I am more worried about people close to me knowing what I believe, as they are more likely to make judgements and have discussion with me.
It is at times scary but truth is that we live in world where people can know everything. However I am still surprised that sometimes who are close to me are completely unaware of things I do.

I am completely ok putting my name with Google. I sort of trust it. ( Not really but I understand if I am using their service, they are going to ask questions. Rules of game.)

I know if people Googled me they would know everything I possibly want to do or am doing or blogging about.Remember you might get support or more fans from people who would read your thoughts. I guess part of the reason you might want to do is because you want people to know your thoughts.
The way people would be going to your blog is when they would be looking for more information on what you have to give. It is ok to put what you believe but remember they always have a choice on whether to believe it or not. It isn't like you are cold calling them or knocking on their door.

You can always edit or moderate negative comments as any moderator would do,if you received bad comments because they disagree with your views.

Just stand in your belief, share and shine! You would be surprised on how many people would be happy to know your knowledge.

The real question is do you believe in what you have to say?

I got news from yahoomail that they are FORCING me into their "other" forms of mail.

I like the clean organized look of classic... now (from what I understand) they are forcing everyone to use the other.

I tried the other style-- a few years ago I took a workshop at local library where you sign up and use it...... but it was soooo chaotic to me!!

(AND, the trainer wanted to see everyone's password. The password I "happened" to think of was HIS key interest in life.... Found that out through a newsletter about a month later. NO WAY I'm gonna use a password HE easily remembers...)

I was married to a *coughhacker* in the 80s... He was scientific prog-analyst programmed 401K and Thrift plan for a mega known corporation. We had our own business, but stupid-him got greedy. He got convicted of doing something illegal by treasury. IRS absolved me, but went after HIM!... Took five years, and it was all soooo sad, sad, sad..... (He was Virgo/moonVirgo ... I get attracted to those sorts.)

So, I don't trust all these 'changes'....
I've seen too much... like I'd been initiated and sorta see through some of these things.... I see "how" they can be twisted. Hard to trust when you've peeked behind those kinds of curtains.

Bottom line is that I know there are people involved who do NOT have OUR best interests in mind..... They are 'harvesters' of info to their benefit and pretend that it's ours....? (ah, getting sppppoooky-- I HOPE it isn't like that?

So sorry for your frustrations, stawr... In a round-about way, these belong to all of us. Thanks for letting me add my 2 cents.

... or better yet, get your own domain, control your own blog hosting & installation, and then use a service like "WhoIs Guard" to protect your identity as the domain holder.

I've had to do this to avoid a stalker ex.

Kinda gave up blogging since I got suspended with google. Plus work and school full time, not sure how I would keep up.

I've heard word press is a good place to start. Sometimes I think about trying again.
But kinda have enough on my plate with school and work, not up for taking on more, but maybe someday.

Do not use Google, I am a hypocrite as I have a googlemail email account, but they track everything and keep information on everything. They then sell this information to advertising companies, to sell targeted ads to you and build up an online profile of who you are and what you like.

Sadly Google is perhaps the most comprehensive search engine, in the sense that it is linked to the most websites in the world. However, it will learn about you. If you search for, lets say, News on Presidential elections, it will target specific articles that favour your political view. Let's say you are pro Republican, it will eventually only display articles with a Pro Republican bias. Same thing with other topics.

Any page with a google app on it will track you as well, google maps, google's ad sense etc. Their terms of agreement basically say; "Any time you use a google service, whether knowingly or not, you consent to us storing, and keeping any data which we can share with our partners."

If you think about how much they own. Google, youtube, google glass, Android OS, Ad sense, google maps, etc. They have so many ways to keep a tab on what kind of person you are, with very little real privacy.

Personally, I would recommend using Tor Browser, or at the very least a different search engine, ixquick, duck duck go, both store no information about you, and Tor Browser is an anonymous way to access the internet in short.
