What's your job/career? Do you love it? If not, what would you like to do? I love my work! I created various unique systems for generating cash from real estate. I get to help Sellers sell their houses that aren't moving very fast (due to the economy) and help Buyers who have credit problems get into a home (often for the very first time). I also get to help homeowners who are in foreclosure keep their home. It's very rewarding and fulfilling. But what I really love is teaching others. I was an education major for a while in college (wanted to teach 2nd grade), but life took me in a different direction, and I teach adults instead. I'm a teacher at heart, though. I think teachers are born, not created. I love sharing my knowledge with others. I'm not good at very many things, but I'm quite brilliant in my field of expertise. I like to synthesize complex concepts and make them understandable to students who are beginners. That is, perhaps, the most rewarding part of all. I love doing seminars and seeing the look in my students' eyes when it "clicks." Plus, I have the best boss in the world. He's smart, cute, sexy, and a lot of fun to be around.

Do you telecommute, Randall? I participate in a gifting program, which is thus far taking care of my expenses, but I certainly want to do better with it. I am starting online college to obtain a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing for Entertainment

Aside from live seminars, I teach and mentor my students via phone. Is that what you mean? I love being a mentor and life coach. When people ask what I do, I say that I'm a Professional High-Fiver! Haha!

I don't want this to turn into a self-promotion thing, so...what does everyone do for work?

I don't think that's what you were doing, Randall, I asked a question and you answered. Even if you were, you didn't deliberately self promote.
They will start answering soon

Hello!

I'm working as a fashion model, since 10 years now. It thought me a lot, all this traveling and different people I met. I really love it, but it has been very tuff many times. I'm a full time student as well, and will probably continue to be that the rest of my life, hope to get a mega trippel PhD degree at some point? he he.

I guess you could say I'm an independent contractor. Very short & sweet, I make most of my income from crafts, entertainment, and a proxy mail order biz.

I'm especially proud of the mail order biz. It originally started as a way to get gifts for people and discreetly deliver them but turned into a year round biz in which I get all kinds of material in my name so people get to keep their privacy and free of spam. During the holidays I get a lot more biz which gives me holiday money. In addition I get so much spam, but I cheerfully take the color catalogs I get and bleed them with lacquer thinner onto freezer paper creating gift wrap paper which I also sell during the holidays.

I do other crafts as well, but most of my money comes from sewing, which I've been doing for fun since I was a little girl. I had to adapt of course as I can't compete against big biz. But there's a market ignored by big biz, like those especially small or tall while also being thin, for example. And they pay A LOT to have clothes made, refitted, and mended for them.

And also I've made stuffed toys for less than $10 and sold them for many times the prices as "originals." I've seen them sold for a hundred at times by those I've sold them to, which was a huge profit to them as well as to me. I also learned new ways to use my sewing skills through the library (such as Hippie Crafts) which expanded how I can make money through sewing.

I also do entertainment. Most of this is for children birthday parties, with "princess parties" being the most popular. When there are a lot of kids I come in as extra help, especially as I have a smoking hot reference for dealing with a lot of children.

I've made some money babysitting & housesitting, too. I got most of the computer I'm using now through barter that way (along with a few months of internet as the guy wanted me to do some real estate research for him while he was in Mexico). And when the Hannah Montana movie came out I made A LOT as parents & grandparents eagerly paid me to take their kids so they didn't have to. I'd guess I averaged 10-12 kids per trip, and I profited $20 per kid.

Do I love it? Yes. I get a lot of job satisfaction out of what I do without the hassle of "having a job." But one day I think I'd like to settle on a farm in a small town and I'm not sure how to do that. I can't do what I do now in a small town.

I'm a mum to two boys and studying counselling. I hope to be in placement and job very soon.
What I really want to do though is songwriting. I've written a few and am hoping to try my first open mic night next week. I really hope that I don't freeze up or throw up.

I work with elderly clients in their own homes, I only have two private ones now, I love both of them, it's very rewarding work. I lost both my parents at a young age I treat my clients as though they were my parents.I'm lucky that I can manage on the few hours a week that I "work"

Hey Randall, I'm new here but I'd like to input.

I'm a Material Handler (forklift operator) at my local utilities company. This was an exciting switch for me from over 25 years in administrative/clerical arena. I was also an organist for various churches for about 20 years until I got burnt out on it.

I have a lot of skills, I sew,I like crafting but thus far my Arian tendency to initiate and fail to follow through hasn't allowed me to earn any real income from it.

I'm trying to find my niche that will help bring extra income as I am a single parent of 3.

You just need something unique that you can sew.

I work as a preschool aide for tots. Sometimes Sub. in other classes in the building for the slightly older preschoolers. And I do latchkey aide later in the day for kindergarten to 8th grade.
I work part time usually. And go to school part time too.
