I challenge you to join me in;

Selling 100 things in 2020.

This year I am going to try to spend less,
Invest more (Global Index Funds for the win)
And sell sell sell! :-)

I'm trying not to be so awfully consumerist, spending and throwing (or as in my case: giving) away in an eternal loop.

So I am going to start this weekend by going through my stuff, down pairing and trying to sell things off. I will sell anything I think I don't need and think I can get upwards of 10$ for. At the same time I will try to spend as little as I can, so I can save up and invest my money, only spending on things I really need.

I challenge you to try the same. Maybe we can share experiences on how it's going?

Sibyl

I've never been good at selling my things.
Usually give them away to folks I see who could use it, or to charity organizations.

Good Luck to you, Sibyl.
Downsizing feels really clean.

It's good to have a feel for what you definitely spend money on too.

I live on a tiny fixed income. When I feel an urge to splurge, I'll buy things I'm going to actually need (like bath and personal supplies), and give self the feeling that I'm a luxurious 'spender'.

Or go to thrift store for a new item of clothing.

Way long ago, I had a brother who was good at selling his things. (I was a good customer to him. ..)

Great idea!
GOOD LUCK!
However I have to forgo taking your challenge.
I have nothing to sell and already living far far below the poverty line;
up to not getting very very needed items. Doing without is too often the only choice.
I wish that my lot in life improves so that I could just live normally.
Anyhow;
again;
great idea/challenge!
Many folks need to do that!

I can relate to what you posted.

Yeah; would love to afford to toss out 20 to 40 year old clothes; and get new;
or get new contact lenses; or afford incontinence supplies instead of relying on threadbare ripped up towels and or using thrift shop rags.
I'd replace the spring scratching duct taped mattress; yeah lots of things!
However when possible I help others even if it means my doing without at times.
At this time though;
cannot downsize more or would be homeless.

Sibyl's challenge is a great idea for those able!
