As far as I know Linda never mentioned Tarot in any of her books I have of hers(LOve,Sun,Star,Relationship Signs). Did she believe in it and why didn't she mention Tarot? What did she think of it? Did she practise it?

Greetings...Linda did not use Tarot cards herself... she studied Astrology and other metaphysical topics as they interested her. Tarot is a study complete unto itself, yet it has associations with: Astrology, Numerology, and Qabalah. I just don't think Linda had the time or desire to pursue the Tarot, but she did respect individual's who use Tarot. If you really look at the descriptions of the Numbers in the While the Soul Slumbers chapter of Star Signs you will see that the double numbers up to 22 contain the images found in the Higher Arcana of Tarot. Linda took a bit of departure in her use of some of the double numbers, but they should correspond to the Higher Arcana right from 1 - 22. Oh yes, and following Cheiro (her main source for her system of Numerology) she switched the images for the numbers 8 and 11. As a student of esoteric Tarot, I think Cheiro and Linda were misled by the pictures in the Exoteric Tarot in common use. 8 is really The Lion Muzzled (Strength in the Tarot corresponding with the sign Leo) and 11 is really the symbol of the Scales of Justice (and the sign Libra)... but this gets into deep esoteric waters that have kept students guessing for a long, long time. Linda mentions Tarot briefly as one of many valid esoteric arts. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." Rebecca Clark IP: Logged |

im frightened of tarot cards myself. many people feel this way. it is possible she dabbled and was put off by them. this would explain a desire for her to validate them yet not use them.-kyle ------------------ yes, im new -please be kind. IP: Logged |
