Are you f*c#&n serious?! Isn't he breaking some sort of labor law or something?Unbelievable. I guess in the end, that's what he wants, so he doesn't even want to SEE any other type of candidate, he's far too busy to even humor them, only wants to give them the time of day if they're sexy and under 26. I guess when you're 27 you're an old bag already. I hope his office gets egged and picketted by woman's libbers. IP: Logged |

Yup, he's an *ss, but he's an honest one. Because like it or not, discrimination happens every single day when we apply for jobs. It's just shoved under the rug, so no one sees. "Attractive" people are more likely to be hired, paid more, and receive better bonuses...one of the TV news magazines did an interesting experiment on this subject a few years ago, sending a more experienced but less attractive woman on a job interview, then sending a knock-out with no experience. The knock-out was automatically offered the job, with more money than the other woman. It's sad...but it happens. And, I do think he is breaking the laws of discrimination with that letter, including age discrimination. Still, your letter kicks butt!! AND, I'll bet you hear from the guy! Keep us posted! I'm wondering exactly what his last assistant did to earn that extra $12,000. IP: Logged |

Sooner or later, we'll be seeing help wanted ads that look like this:"Dirty, sexually voracious predator who is filthy rich seeks gullible, naive woman with no experience in this field to be my assistant. Must be hot and sexually active. Must not have herpes. If interested, dial (555) 555-5555. ext. 555 and ask for Mr. I.M.A. Doofus." IP: Logged |

Employers, if that's what this guy really has in mind, get away with it because few people ever pick up the phone and call the US Dept of Labor or the EEOC, ask for a compliant form and follow through by putting the compliant in writing. This ad is discriminatory on it's face. Any employer who has ever gone through an audit of their employment records for possible age and/or sex discrimination violations usually isn't looking for a repeat audit. It's an administrative procedure where the accused doesn't enjoy the usual "innocent until proven guilty" protections and the burden of proof is on the employer to prove the allegation isn't true. It's time consuming and expensive for employers and well worth the effort to file a compliant against jerks who violate the Labor Codes. IP: Logged |

YEAH!! That's what you should do, WofA!Or do you have to be someone who was employed by the offending party, and experienced the descrimation from the inside? Nah, I would think not. You could file the complaint anonomously, just as a concerned citizen, couldn't you? What he's really after is an ornament for the office. Decoration, really... otherwise known as "eye candy". Do you think he would prefer her to be single and without children as well? Probably. IP: Logged |

Spiritua, I was kinda teasing you...because your post reminded me so much of that movie! James Spader plays a literally sadistic boss who hires masochistic women, for a little role-playing around the office. It's actually a funny, interesting film. Maggie Gyllenhal (not sure if I spelled her name correctly) is pretty amazing in the part... IP: Logged |

Sounds like a typical offbeat James Spader role, being the Aquarian he is. Has anyone seen the movie "Crash"??? Friggen bizarre!!! It's about people who are sexually stimulated by car accidents. It was kind of disturbing, and...well, stupid. (I'm not recommending it or anything, just wondering if anyone saw it) IP: Logged |

Part 1 of post: I haven't seen "Crash," but I have two friends who saw it. Neither one liked it. Part 2 of post: Wych, did you ever receive a response to your letter? If so, what did it say? IP: Logged |

I saw "Crash," and previously had read the book. They're both too extreme for me. But James Spader fascinates me in some films, like "sex lies and videotape" and "White Palace."Yes Wych...any response? Any job offers? IP: Logged |

hey! No response from that guy at all. Darn it! Maybe I should have included a photo in my email just to try to get one from him and then flirt a lot and watch him make an idiot out of himself. ------------------ we shall meet tomorrow night... and i'll kiss you just as tenderly as cygnus kissed the deserts
