Hi Guys.

just a fun discussion here about who your fav comic hero is?

My fav one is SPIDER-MAN!
Ever since I was a kid I always preferred spider-man over the other super heroes like batman, superman etc.

Maybe subconscoiusly I want to be him or because he can seriously kick some bad a$$.
However he will be my hero forever.

Can't wait to find out others fav comic super heroes are.

I used to dig the New Mutants.. My brother would get two copies.. one to save, the other to read, and he invested alot ofmoney over the years into them, come to think of it.
Maybe it was the misunderstoof teen angst and the nusual powers and all that came with them.. the responsibility, maybe it was the action, maybe it was the sexual tension and the beautifull ydrawn characters, but I loved that world. Now i find the same fascination with the X-men movie series.mmmmmmmmm Wolverine

My childhood favorites were Spider-Man and the Hulk. Later on, it was the Flash. After him came the X-Men. My current favorite may sound self-centered, but it would have to be me (Or, more correctly stated, my Marvel Super Heroes Role Playing Game character, Cyclone X). I created him for the above game to be the me of the Marvel Universe (as if I existed there). He is a part-time reserve member of the X-Men that you can learn more about at www.heroplay.com (picture included).

Deneiros~ How much fun is that!? You can create a whole new world and character, complete with interaction among your favorites? That's killer!
Oh, but I already live in a fantasy world.. to have superpowers added that would be too much!!!

I also forgot to mention that I like the x-men.Ever since i have seen the movies, I would love to become MYSTIQUE. Just imagine how much fun you would have if you could change into any one you wanted to, all the fun and mischief.
I also like Wolverine.Wish I was big and strong like him.Only in my dreams.

I was something of a comic book junkie as a kid. aww heck, I'm still a fan. ..

My absolute favorite series was ElfQuest.. Still is. Favorite character is Skywise.

He's the cutie with the frosty hair, wearing blue. The other two are Cutter and Nightfall. Nightfall is definetly my favorite female character from the series.
It's an incredible story that has strongly influenced my spirituality.

I also read alot of X-Men as a kid. The character I wanted to be most was Jean Grey when she became the Pheonix. Yeah yeah I know she turned to the dark side, literally as the Dark Pheonix but she was oooh so cool flying around with those telekinetic powers of hers that made her look just like a flaming phoenix. Darnit I wish I could find an image of it to post.

I have to say I felt let down by some aspects of the movies but I won't go into that.. The pain is still too fresh. *sigh*
They did do a good job with Wolverine and Prof. X though, IMHO.

I never got into the Spiderman series but I have to say I've absolutely fallen in love with the movie. Could be cause I'm such a sucker for Tobey Maguire tho..

A comic I was introduced to in my adulthood that I've been thoroughly impressed by is the Sandman series. It's rather gruesome in some aspects but they way it weaves together myth and Shakespeare and history is amazing. It centers around a character named Morpheus who is lord of Dreams. He has other siblings, all of whom are referred to as the Endless.
They are Death (the big sister.. she's my fav.
)

, Desire, Despair, Delirium, Destiny, and Destruction. It's a marvelous story.

You know, I was just talking about comic book heros on Harpyr's avatar thread....and then lo and behold, this board appears!!!

I too, am a comic book junkie. My brother is a comic book artist. He has thousands and thousands of comics, and we both can blame it on our mother, because of the hundreds we rifled thru as kids...

(here's a story. My mom started collecting comics waaaaaaaaay back in the day. If anyone knows alot about comics, I remember reading the FIRST EDITION of Superman that she had, as well as one that was a misprint and Supe's cape is the wrong color.
At last call, the value of these issues is anywhere from $50,000 to $250,000.
Everyone gets ONE GUESS as to who was the little kid that read them so much they were destroyed.........)

Harpyr, you are reading my mind again. I never really got into Elfquest, but Jean Grey was ALSO my favorite mutant...and I too collected The Sandman series, and yes, Death is the best!! She's so precious.....

BTW, there is an awesome story arc right now with Phoenix.....she's coming back for the THIRD time, way into the future to save the world gone bad.....everyone's battling over the Phoenix Egg.

My original fave, however, is Wonder Woman. The old comics are fantastic. With all the references to Greek and Roman myths, I was in heaven. My first Halloween costume was WW.

I am going to see if I can scan a pic in....
of Dark Phoenix......

Discounting the fact that I'd run around in Wonder Woman underoos as a kiddo, my fave would have to be Batman - he gets by on pure skill
I mean, OK, OK - he is goofily wealthy, but he does have pure skill and deductive reasoning going his way: he's the Scorpio of Comic Book Heros.

Ahhh, my favorite comic book hero... wow! Two come to mind: Daredevil and The Tick. Been a Daredevil fan for close to 20 years, and The Tick for about 10. I like lots of other comic book heros and teams, but those two are deffinitly my favorites.

Why is that I find no sex appeal in Michael Keaton in any other role....but dress him up like a bat and give him cool toys, and suddenly he is irresistable?

It REALLY puzzles me.......

I don't think I saw that movie Pix......

I am pretty sure its the comic fixation that made him sexy......same phenomenon with Hugh Jackman.

~sigh~

Where's a short hairy guy with claws when you need one?

Hey Pixlepixie! Yeah, the game was fun to play. If you want to know more about Cyclone X, his history is at the end of the page I linked above.

My favourite was Phantom and the X-men. I don't know if you know about Phantom. (One of the very popular comic characters in India). This guy was really tough. He had no super-powers. But he always had this ring with a skull on his finger. He would punch all the bad guys leaving his mark of a skull on their face. And he lived in this cool cave which was also in the shape of a Skull. From the X-men, I like Wolverine and Nightcrawler.
