Oh ya... the older Doobies, Lynard, Hendrix, Joplin, Who; the really old stuff. I can`t handle the newer noise tho. ------------------ If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. ~James Herriot IP: Logged |

Queen is my all-time favorite band. Led Zepplin is right up there for me too.. John Bonham really wailed on those drums. IP: Logged |

"I love rock and roll, so put another dime in the juke box bay-by..." I LOVE music, it is an intrinsic part of my life. Love the classic rockers, but my taste is eclectic, runs closer to modern/alternative rock. But I love classical music too, Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, etc. A quick glance at the closest shelf includes CDs from Morphine, Cowboy Junkies, U2, Foo Fighters, Seal, This Mortal Coil, Vangelis, Andreas Vollenweider, Liz Phair, Nirvana, Beck, some Celtic CDs, Stone Temple Pilots, Indigo Girls, Jeff Buckley ( ), Radiohead, Haydn, Mendelsshon, Parry, Paul Winter.... Neil Diamond..."Sweet Caroline...good times never felt so good...I've been inclined..." I especially like his song about immigrants, "America." LOL I know a LOT of music! Saw Neil D. in concert once too, he was a wonderful performer. It was past all his hit-making days, but he is still so popular, there were grannies and kids cheering for him, lots of fun. B.J. Thomas, saw him a couple of years ago, too. Met him, very nice man, very gracious. I think my favorite of his is "I just can't help believin, while you're lying soft beside me..." Hey, I love it all. Elton John, Chicago (circa the 70's, not a big fan of their later stuff), Fleetwood Mac, Blood Sweat and Tears (though David Clayton Thomas is a complete ass and really tainted my view of his work when I met him), Chuck Berry, Edwin Starr (War. Huh. What is it good for? Absolutely nothin'. Say it Again...)... Oh and two of the most yummy voices of all time: Marvin Gaye and The Reverand Al Green. They put me in the mood and make my socks melt every time. Oh...and of course Barry White (You're my first, you're my last, my everything...). I just love music. All kinds. Who needs limitations? I loved them from the first chord progression.. actually really good sound once you realize the campy humour is attached. So eighties, gotta love it.. My husband and I were just randomly fliping channels, started watching Much Music.. ( Canadian Music station.. very good) and this eighties rocker campy silly band came on and I didn't stop laughing until it was over... the guitar falling from the ceiling? the giant space octopus? the jumpsuit on a tall skinny guy with long eighties hair and a crooked grin? Great range too.... Better notes than I can hit convincingly! I remembered the name -the Darkness... and I think they're great! IP: Logged |

Uh-oh. All this time and we still haven't mentioned The Beatles! I John. You know Annie, the first cut I heard from the new Tesla album didn't impress me much, sorry. Maybe it just needs to grow on me. Yeah, Chris Cornell is hot, but if I had my choice of Seattle rockers, I'd take Eddie Vedder. Yum. IP: Logged |
