well...Why no avatars at Lindaland?
I've been perusing around another message board and noticed the wide range of avatars and rather like that feature for it's ability to convey the personality of the poster right off the bat.

I was just curious if there are specific reasons we don't have them here.

They can be distracting, and I don't want Lindaland to look like other Boards.

An Avatar is a graphic (usually animated) that is attached to the User's messages (normally on the left of each Post). I want Lindaland to be about content as opposed to a lot of flash.

I still don't understand why we would need them in the sense of animated thingies. REAL avatars are something different.

Here I thought someone was hiding a learned avatar from me!!!! So this word has been co-opted by the WWW?

I hereby dub myself the "Avatar of Phat Beats and Conspiracy Theories"

Actually, thats the business cards some friends made for me....

But isn't it fun? Being an avatar sounds like the name of a comic book hero!!

me too MK.... I thought they were called gifs or jpegs et al....

I was trying to figure out how Randall knew who was & who wasn`t and if a real Avatar wanted in, well they`d just join up.

One of the things I really like about this board set up is there`s no "who`s online" or "who`s previewing what forum" menu!
