Hunter will be 5 this month

We were in the bedroom watching a little TV before bed and there was a short story about crop circles. Hunter pointed to the TV and said "LOOK LOOK! The stars!"

I said "The stars??"

And he says "The stars playground!"

What the heck?

Wow,,,,arent kids amazing creatures..
so much more intuned than alot of adults..
i have a son who ppl either love instantly or really dislike...and ppl say he is different..he is..he also comes up with the most strange things..and often if i ask him about it after..he doesnt remember..once he told me...when i was looking in a book that had a pic of a woman having a pregnancy ultrasound..that he remembered when he was in my belly...that the the noise from the machine was really loud and it hurt his ears..(he now has hearing difficulty...waiting for operation)...and he said he thought that it was god trying to talk to him...hmmm

Cancerian ~ thank you

I think I have some of the same schooling problems with Hunter. It's really frustrating. He's just not like other kids.

wychofavalon...i understand completely..i have 6 children..and they are all sooooo different..i think my biggest concern as a parent is to provide the right learning situations for each child...according to what each one needs..and with Keenann..its worrying..he is amazing artistically..and give him any broken toy...and he finds a way to fix..he even pulls apart working ones to see how they work..he is also an amazing little soccer player...but as for academically...he is well behind average..first it doesnt interest him..second he may remember it one day..but the next he cannot(and this frustrates him)..and though u may say..academic acheivement is not the be all..in what ways do u help a child like this in development???i often ponder this..

I've heard Montessori schools are great, especially for children who do not do well in mainstream schools. I have no personal experience with these schools, but I do have a friend that is currently studying to be a teacher with a deep interest in this particular type of schooling. She does volunteer work in one such school and says she wishes she could go back in time to enroll herself, lol. I don't know how affordable or available these schools are, anyhow, but perhaps looking into them might lead you in the right direction.

6 children, CancerianMoon? Kudos to you! How do you manage your time?

WychOfAvalon, what your son said is really, really interesting! Has he mentioned anything before about crop circles or "aliens"? I'm just curious. Perhaps, seeing as how your son is so insightful, you might consider writing his "knowing" statements down in a journal for him or something of that nature.
