Last night my hubby and two kids went out for dinner and when we came out, my licence plate was GONE. I could not believe it! We called the police so a case could be made if the plate is ever found. And I have been on the phone with the DMV all morning.

My goal here is to tell all Knowflakes that you need to check your car to make sure that your plates were not stolen after parking in a public parking lot. I was told by the officer that is working on our case that this is a common crime.

I feel better now! Thanks for listening!

Oh Irish Eyes.. sorry to hear that, it's so daft. It is quite common, especially with get aways, or speed cameras. At least it's all reported.

{{{BIG HUG}}} to you

Wow. I'm sorry it happened to you Irish Eyes. I hope the DMV isn't giving you a hard time!

At the same time -- please don't take this badly -- it's kind of interesting to hear of it actually happening. I've only ever seen it in the movies.

I've heard of this happening quite a bit. As I understand it, usually the stolen plate goes on a stolen car.

Thieves... it'll all catch up with them eventually.

The bad thing is that my car is licenced in another state because my hubby is in the military. Our home state is 1500 miles away so it will be a few days before I will get my new plate.

On a bright note: A spare key was hidden behind the plate by the last owner. Who ever stole the plate only wanted the plate and not the car or anything in it.

I am truely thankful that the plate was all that the person wanted!
