By popular request of the teens from the Teen Spirit forum, I hereby inform and remind y'all......that there is a Teen Spirit forum. Visit it one and all, young people and old people and rickety old codgers- anyone who has something to say to teens. Just an encouragement. ------------------ Hello everybody! I used to be QueenofSheeba and then I was Apollo and now I am QueenofSheeba again (and I'm a guy in case you didn't know)! IP: Logged |

Not old in a bad way. Just talking to the people who've been at LindaLand for a while and haven't explored some other parts of the site. -StarLover IP: Logged |

You're absolutely right. I should go further afield in the website. Maybe we all should travel outside our usual Lindaland comfort zones. QOS...its a deal. I was going to say that Lions work better in groups, then I realized that a group of Lions is called a pride. How fitting, eh? Actually, I do usually look at the current daily topics. It just, who has time to keep up with 72 threads? Oh wait a minute...that was a syncronicity number. Perhaps we'll have a chance to discuss is later. IP: Logged |

Was just pokin' some fun, SL ... it's actually been a while (before today) since I peeked into Pligrimville. It's a cool place FK, 72 is synchronistic? Please, do tell... IP: Logged |

quote Actually, I do usually look at the current daily topics. It just, who has time to keep up with 72 threads? why is there a special teen forum? Was it something Linda Goodman wanted? Most of them seem to hang around the rest of the site anyway.

Even though I am WAY past my teens, I think it is wonderful that we have a teen forum. Those years can be very difficult. Teens may use the whole site, but when they have the need, they have ready access to a group of people who are going through the same changes and challenges as they are.Syncronicity and the number 72...that needs a thread of its own. I'll meditate on it. IP: Logged |

I'm not trying to change anything, just observing it's somewhat schizoid. On one hand, theres O. and H., raging against ageism, and on the other, the T.S., promoting it. Perhaps there should be a twenty-something spirit. a thirties spirit, a life begins at forty forum, etc.IP: Logged |

The problem is we don't have enough teens, most teens don't exactly roam around these areas! So it can get really slow. -StarLover IP: Logged |

The "teenage years" are critical in my opinion on many different levels. They probably need a place where people of their own age share their beliefs without critisism and a bunch of other stuff. Older people are usually more settled and whatnot, teenagers should probably be really specifically nurtured before the getters get them.QOS - I was under the impression that non-teens should limit their input on the Teen Spirit. I can't quite remember where I got that impression but I had that impression. Not an exclusionary impression just a "let them be" impression. ------------------ Get some love in your groove, just get hip to forgive... - Michael Franks IP: Logged |

The immortality topics are mutually exclusive of teen topics, so there is no dichotomy. The whole idea is that it's okay for teens to be interested in these subjects. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." It seems unnecesary to have a special sector, since the whole site is set to teen preferences. I cannot call a male hen or a female dog by its right name in case the sensitive teens are affected. IP: Logged |

I was referring to the objection that immortality avoids focusing on age, yet we have a Forum for teens. Such an objection is unfounded, IMO. We can celebrate our teens and let them have their own Forum without honoring death. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you."
