Aaaah...being able to come home after a day's work and not having anyone else to consider...nicest is when there's absolutely NO-ONE in the house...completely QUIET...I can please myself and GET ON with whatever I have to do without anyone interfering...don't get me wrong, I like socializing very much (am out most days...and nights), but on my own terms.

I don't know what all these people are doing complaining about being single. I could get quite used to this bachelorette lifestyle.

Glad to hear you're happy!!!!

It's an understood thing in my relationships that I need alone time, and I was perfectly content when I was single.. s I am with you girl.. it doesn't take away from togetherness moments, it enhances them!

Here here!! Agree 100%. You know, growing up it was almost like I couldn't handle dating people at my own schools for this reason. Too much focus on constant togetherness drives me nuts. I also agree with Pix that spending time away from your love makes you more appreciative when you're together.

I'm proud of you and happy for you AT!!! You and I have been down a similar path.

I am dating now- actually, I am involved with a Leo (LOL). He's a great guy, but will be going to Germany to fly UAV's until June.

I too enjoy being single and having the ability to come home and just "be". It's hard having to deal with relationship issues at times (well, I don't have that prob with the Leo so far... things just seem to flow and we get along extremely well).

Enjoy it while you can... when you least expect it.. BAM... someone takes up space in your heart

i AGREE 100 %.

Maybe thats why its so difficult for Gems to settle down

Independence, autonomy, private time. I can dance around my house singing whatever I want in my lime green pajamas with cucumber mask on my face, and you know whats the best thing? No one will tell me to do this or that and change the channel or cook for them. And when I want company I can have that too!

Besides men appreciate you more when you dont need them ANYWAY. They come swarming like flies. Then when you want to be in a relatinoship theyre all gone.

Love

Yeah,
Being single is great but it does tend to suck when you're always single... I wouldn't know the difference really. 20 years old and never been in a relationship. I fear I am doomed to walk this life alone like the incredible hulk...
But because this thread is a positive one I will say three things that a good about being single:
1) Having the whole bed to yourself.
2) Being able to be your most embarassing intimate self more often and...
3) Doing what you want, when you want.

When you learn to love those times alone and you learn to not rely on either the wish, dream or fantasy of a relationship, when you truly LOVE YOU.. that is when you are ready to give in a relationship.

One must always remember, relationships are not a cure or and end all to loneliness. Relationships are wonderful, but they are bodies of work and they need time, love, work - to keep the energy going. Relationships can also be suffocating, toxic and abusive....

So, make sure you know YOU, what YOU want and what you are willing to GIVE before you lament not being in a relationship.

20 years is still very, very young. You have a world of learning ahead of you - like school, work, learning about yourself. Someday you will meet that someone, in the meantime, it's nice to meet alot of someone's and date (that doesn't mean sleep around.. unless that is what you want.. and again, I am not telling someone how to live their life. )

PS..I love cats.. I have two (well 3 if you count my Handsome Leo Sun / Pisces moon man) LOL....

Missing my single days
I have a room mate who scrutinise my every move.
Damn my libra need, I let her in little knowing that was the end of happiness.
Now since my sister has joined us, I feel responsible for the first time in life.
Gosh! I worry if she looks sad or if she looks lonely, almost like a mother
Yes my single days are over!!

Pidaua,
Thanks for giving me a new perspective on the matter. I admit I was having a bit of a glum day when I wrote that post, and later feared I had put a death sentence on the thread with my negative wallowing. Hehe... I think you're right though, but self acceptance is proving itself a long painstaking process... Some days I guess are easier than others Kudos to single loving people!
